Today we see the last tournament loss of World Champion and Chess Legend Alexander Alekhine.
He accomplished all there was to do in chess. However, by the end of his life he was living in exile in Portugal. Due to his disappointing financial situation, the World Champion began playing simuls and matches for financial gain.
Alekhine nearly lost this match(!) to his friend and Portguese Champion Francisco Lupi. A peculiar figure in history, Lupi dealt his friend and mentor the final loss of his illustrious career.
Sadly Francisco Lupi also died young at the age of 33.
