He calculated the molar mass of H2O H = 1.00794(times 2 since it is H2) and O = 15.9994 add them both and it equals to 18.02

Are you asking about where the value 18.02 g/mol came from? That is the molar mass of water. I'm just using it to do a mols to grams conversion. Hope that helps!
