I have the red one, and these sounds are inspiring. I'd love to make these patches to play with. Seeing this vid just reiterates what a great synth this is. I feel like i have barely scratched the surface with mine. It has been on MIDI duty while i play the software synths.

All these patches you made sounds absolutely epic! Around 8:30 that was pinnacle for me, sounded like physical modeling. This synth is so underrated it’s unbelievable. Used to have it decade ago and just got one of eBay. Did you used some editor to edit patches or just went hardcore and did it with its interface? Big ups!

Thank you so much for the kind comment! You should totally check out my newer videos, I did some absolutely groundbreaking sounds (orchestral instruments, choirs, organs, plucked instruments the lot...) and I agree 100% the micron is one of the most underrated synths ever... I just go hardcore haha and use the key-shortcuts to edit, it's very simple once you get used to it and know exactly where to find things :) I do recommend diggin in, it's such a surprisingly versatile engine, one of the bsolute best FM engines out there, and a brilliant sounding VA in general!

Amazing programming. I do not have your level of expertise programming yet, I'm working at it. I went with the Miniak after learning on the Micron. The problem-my 2 restored Fusions have completely taken me over the last 3 years, for much of the same reasons as what you have created here. Truly genius machines-you demonstrate, the only limitations to these instruments-is the imagination, the ear. It is so hard stepping away from the Fusion just to work on the little brothers. I am hearing some beautiful music here, not just programming. Kind of makes me sad-the 2 primary geniuses who invented these amazing synths are still out there creating, we have been in touch with Taiho at the Alesis music group asking some technical questions re the Fusion. Why sad-that Alesis pretty much abandoned these but you didn't! But then stradivarius stopped making violins a long time ago and look what happened. If Bach had one of these, he might have created some of the music I have just heard here. You have inspired me to keep working, thank you.

@@ptr_new That's right I'm not messing about those but may I tell you some weird stories? In 2007, I've picked the provisionally last micron from a German music shop. Though it was a return or a show piece, the full price was charged. Anyway, after its arrival, enthusiasm quickly went high. Though it couldn't quite match the pristine sound of the then popular creamware/soniccore ASB clones, I"ve felt micron 100x more exciting. The desire "A kingdom for an ion" soon arose but at that time there weren't any new ions available throughout whole Europe. No other choice but to try it with California was left, what at that time required high shipping, bank and customs fees. Though it was enough sturdy to withstand international shipping (even as a single parcel like that), not even the use of a voltage converter protected that US model from killing one of its audio outputs completely when replugging audio cords. I haven't had the slightest idea how this could even happen. Since then, any cabling, regardless what type and device, are set exclusively in OFF state. If that weren't enough stupid, I was not only charged to fully pay return costs. I was additionally charged usage fees!!! Yes, I have received a new replacement device but If I had known in advance that a German shop would have ions in stock again about some time later (!) I'd have protected myself from a gazillion of troubles, anger & negativity. Guess: One of the two ions I ordered from that shop arrived without data pot!! Apparently someone had pulled it off that way it hadn't been noticed. Why on earth has that been hidden? Again that ion had to be replaced. When blue micron SE models've hit the market, I certainly considered getting but facing 2 microns and 3 ions, finally reason won. Contrary to possible expectations, none but pragmatism led to the number off identic items. I simply wanted (if ever) to gig gear existing (at least) twice as a precautionary measure..

@@tomadeney8860 yeah, although I’m not sure how to (both my microns were already up to date when I bought them so I never had to do it) What’s recommended before making any changes is to do a full back up of all your sounds and settings - so in case something goes tits up, you can always reload the original settings
