I own a 1999 SG700S that I purchased new when I was 16. Every time I take it somewhere to play I’m amazed how many other guitar players have never seen one before.

Phil X used to play one of these. Love the natural and not so natural tear and wear on this one. Congratulations on an awesome guitar

I love the look of those old Yamaha SGs, my Revstar is a killer guitar but the OG would be cool to own some day too

It really does sound like a Les Paul. It looks dead cool too. nice one. Congratulations you scooped up a real gem. It would be ideal to use on pedal demos to give us an idea of what the pedal sounds like with Gibson/PAF things in general. Thanx guys

Great vid guys. A Yamaha SG700 cherry burst was one of my first guitars in the early 80's and I still own it. I play it almost daily with a lot of pleasure. It has split coil, which was really new back then. Cool guitars. The SG1000 and SG2000 were the real Gibson killers. If you can get your hands on one of those!!!!!

Try a Sakai Kalamazoo, you'll be blown away, think a vintage Ibanez subsidiary company, an SG with 3 nonslanted single coils, a teleish neck, phase option switching like a mustang with a jazz master bridge. Perfect

WHO THE F Sold you My guitar!!!. Bought one in 1981. EXACTLY like the one I used to have. A friend I used to jam with had a Les Paul Standard and I liked the Yamaha better. The SG500 was the lowest model as far as I remember..

Nice guitar great look and also sounded fat as well as it was pushing the amp only thing I will say is did not seem to have the best sustain but that might just be down to the test sound set up. Look forward to seeing this guitar in future vids
