Having heard the Chaconne played countless times by the greatest artists of yesterday and today, I can say that this performance is on a par with the best I have ever heard.

Alexander Markov, maravilhosamente virtuoso!🎻🎼🎶🎶🎶

Markov doesn't play chacone. He sings it on the violin. I don't know how many air violin contains but Markov somehow managed to create voice of the whole baroque organ. Endless bow, endless voice. I think his Stradivarius created rest of the conception. Markov let his violin sing as Bach wrote it and as baroque church organ registers would blend the sound together. The most natural conception ever. It is a pitty that professional recording doesn't exist.

This is the only Bach piece that I can find on KZitem played by Markov... I actually didn't expect this to be good since he always plays those "crazier" stuffs but now he surprised me. It's certainly a fairly easy piece for him to master in his own style.

Все исполнители и интерпретаторы будущих времён - всего лишь тени Баха...Марков среди них останется самобытным, изумительным и ярчайшим бриллиантом, сумевшим так восхитительно через звук подарить своим современникам вот это самое чудо !!!

Chaconne is the last movement of Partita No. 2. Accurately, it should be just "Chaconne". On to other matters, I think this on par with or surpassing Itzhak Perlman... Markov deserves more respect.

Ha. No much discipline as expected but it somehow works. Conception is questionable but ingenious. These Russians :) If you want to hear totaly different chaconne, listen to Midori Goto's version which is essence of discipline to the last detail. Day and night. Both versions are IMHO titanic. kzitem.info/news/bejne/rJ2JsaqFenx-lW0

What a jumble! He is absolutely no match for Milstein for this piece, even though his 24 caprices is beautiful.
