Seeing this, Eteri Tutberidze’s behavior (turning her back to Trusova) is appalling and immature. She is the adult, she needs to act like one. You got a problem watching your former student perform? Get over it. You should be happy that she’s still going. She’s not Pluchenko’s skater, yet still acknowledges her. Trusova has more class in her skating at 18 than Tutberidze’s failed skating career at 48.

Something I thought everyone has the right to know about ladies individual at 2022 Olympic: volunteers and staff members said that after the award ceremony, Tutberidze and the rest of the Russian team went straight back to Olympic village, Trusova was left behind alone in tears at the rink, when she stopped crying she realized that she was left behind, all by herself, and she doesn't speak much English, so she had to use her iPad as translator to ask the staffs at the rink to help her get a cab that can take her back to the Olympic village. I don't know how could she bear this at the age of 17...

I was not all about Trusova, but the way that they have treated her has made me anti-Eteri. How can she laugh? All of her young ladies look that way once they pass a certain age. Name a skater that isn’t some 13-15 year old that is with her that still skates well? I’m 💯 behind these skaters that have left her to prioritize not falling completely apart. I’m also over how she treats those that leave her. It’s ridiculous. I’m also tired of how some Russian people instantly run to calling girls fat when they reach the fully expected point where they fall apart…. …can they not support their own? Are they that unpatriotic? Lacking in compassion? It’s insane to me. Mind you, it is not all Russians. The entire Russian senior team and reserves that work with Eteri or recently left is injured…that’s a frustration. The bullying of these girls that I see is absolutely disgusting.

I've watched Alyona's interview (I'm a native Russian speaker) and I just wanted to point out that the translation of what she said about Anna wasn't quite correct: "she's very intelligent, she couldn't afford [to speak her mind]" was actually something like "she's very well-mannered, she didn't take the liberty/didn't permit herself". In a way that they are both very emotional and feisty, but Anna (as I take it from the context, due to her upbringing and extreme politeness) didn't let herself make such remarks as Alyona did (for which Alyona was later called "obnoxious", as she also mentioned). This is translation from an article: Trusova performed with a short program (unsuccessfully - she plucked a double axel and was left without an element), and after her performance, commentators Alexander Grishin and Maxim Trankov forgot to turn off the microphones. “Initiate me into the politics of the party so that I understand what to say and what not to say,” Alexander asked his colleague. “Well, Trusova is over... for First Channel,” the two-time Olympic champion of Sochi replied. Trankov's incomprehensible message was confirmed in the mixed zone when Trusova went out to reporters. On a sleeve of her jacket there was no longer a patch of the First Channel: it was torn off, in the same place - only a sloppy outline in the form of white threads. There are no official versions and comments yet. According to RIA Novosti Sport sources, the figure skater has long-standing conflicts with Channel One. They have been going on since February, but the subject of disagreements has not been disclosed. So there could be any reason. There are already many theories floating around on sidelines and in fan chats, but we can't say if any of them are true. Is it possible that Sasha doesn't like a constant focus on his relationship with Mark Kondratyuk? It is unlikely: only yesterday the couple answered Alina Zagitova that they were not embarrassed by questions about their relationship. At first, there was an impression that, along with Trusova, TV people were ignoring the group of Svetlana Sokolovskaya, where she works. In “kiss and cry”, the coach was almost not shown, and Trankov did not interview the winner of the short program, Trusova’s classmate Sofya Samodelkina, after the performance. Is it possible that Sonya herself refused, upset by the fall from the triple Axel? Everything is possible, but usually even the taciturn Mikhail Kolyada did not run away from the interviewer in this case. But a few hours later, First Channel, as if nothing had happened, showed the most titled student of Sokolovskaya - Mark Kondratyuk, and Svetlana Vladimirovna herself was now taken into the frame. But Trusova herself, as before, was not caught in the stands, although she was present. A very strange and yet another optional conflict in our figure skating.

18:28 the interviewer is an Olympic gold synchro swimmer (from the team that never lost an Olympic gold for like 20 years) so she literally knows what she's talking about and what it takes to make things happen

Just to be clear, it is uncertain what excatly Trankov ment in commentary, because his phrase can be translated from Russian as ''Trusova is done...for the First Channel''. And by the tone he said it, I'd guess that this translation is way more accurate. P.s. Best wishes to everyone from Russia.

@@urbanplantae5556 I have seen other Russian ladies with badly destroyed bleach hair. I was wondering do hairdressers from Russia know how to bleach hair properly. I've seen KZitemrs that have bleached their hair better. I would of thought when Eteri was in the US she would have gotten a professional to fix her hair.

Since Sasha had a back injury before she left *****, I hope she lets herself heal fully and come back with a bang. People don’t seem to realize how claustrophobic some might feel given Russian skaters obviously can’t go to any international competitions for a long time. Sasha seems so much happier with her new coach and that makes my heart warm. Shes still so young, and has so much potential for more greatness. Adding: People keep calling her a brat for crying at the Olympics but they never bring up how that was the first time she has EVER had a mental breakdown receiving a medal. She was obviously crying and frustrated/upset for more than just the medal. Fuck all the people hating her for that

she was literally fucked out of a golden medal by her own coach, federation and that ridiculous joke of a jury, with a program that was gold and no other medal color, even a 40 year old skater would be crying, imagine a teenager who s suffered thro a boatload of abuse to be there.

Hi! I know that it is old video, but still... Russian is my first language so I was interested to see what the commenter exchange was in Russian (around 3:40 in video). And yeah, technically translation is accurate, but meaning is lost. In Russian "всё" has a different weaning from "everything". In example we had meme "ой, всё." that was used to end a conversation and is really similar to "I can't even." if it used as millennials use it (without an explanation). Or when we want to state that something is over we say "всё кончено", and that is what was implied when Trankov sad "Ну, Трусова - всё… для Первого канала". More accurate but more harsh translation would be "Well, Trusova is done for... the first channel". Hope my English ok enough to understand :^)

@Paola La The fact these girls and this sport is so huge overseas blows me away. At the same time the USA has the best male skater that has ever risen up in homophobic America. The majority of Americans think all male skaters are gay. Ilia won't be known unless he wins a gold at the Olympics. We don't deserve to have such a talent here.

They did not mean "Trusova is everything for the first channel". You should translate it as "she is over for the 1st channel" meaning she Doesn't exist for them anymore. It was said when microphone was on so everybody could hear. And then "what are the rules now?"

Eteri turned around AFTER the long program because she was recorder talking to Daniil after Sasha's SP, she wasn't laughing. What is true, however, is that she seemed to be criticizing her during that SP comment. That's why they filmed her again and she then turned around.

I hope this young skater has protectors all around her that are channeling HER innate fierceness back to her, and shouting love and praise and encouragement over and above all the other voices. Whaddaya know, she leaves TT, and takes the fast lane through puberty! She looks lovely in a fit young woman’s body, instead of that of a 12 year-old boy. She may have left an abusive environment in time to save her back and knees and avoid premature hip replacement. Not to mention the development of her mental health. If she can survive elite figure skating with her body mostly intact, I’m certain Trusova can do anything she puts her mind to. Cure cancer. Go to Mars and back. I pray she finds joy and peace, as well.

So glad Sasha left Eteri, hopefully in time to save her body and mind from being completely broken by that evil woman. She's such a joy to watch on the rink, and if god wills she will keep away from Eteri and never go back there, keep on being joyful about her skating, learn how to rest a bit when needed and maybe we ll be lucky enough to watch her skate all the way into adulthood. Its always a special fit to watch a figure skater grow into their craft instead of it being terminated before age 20.

I speak Russian and would like to see the original. I suspect the translation is entirely too word-for-word, which is only causing more confusion. The general gist is probably okay, but it doesn’t even sound like natural English. That’s a red flag 🚩 that the translation is off. Heads up in the world of misinformation- if any translations sound off in English, there’s a high probability there are minor mistakes in the translation. Watch out for: “they are maximalists!” You mean perfectionists? You mean they give it their all? You get my drift? So be on the look out. When I see the original I might be able to smooth it out so you can read it without a double take. But more importantly thx got sharing all the drama. My my my!

One thing I don't see many people acknowledge, is that fragile bones can fracture as well as breaking cleanly. I never broke anything in my life, and in the last year or two I cracked the bone in my little finger and the bone in the joint of my big toe. Because it was a crack, not a full break, I could move them. The toe I cracked playing football, and I didn't realize until the next day. I played the rest of the game after a short break. The next day I couldn't walk well and it swelled a bit, but I put arnica on and wrapped it and drove for several hours back to my home. This toe was broken in September. It is now December, and it functions fine but still aches. The finger was cracked in November (misaimed gesture whacked into a desk) and healed sometime in the spring, maybe March or April. I say all this to say that just because someone doesn't have a cast or crutches or hasn't gone to the emergency room does not mean they have not done damage that will affect their bodies for years to come. I would be very surprised indeed if these girls were not fracturing or cracking bones even more often than they break them. A sedentary healthy, well-fed person like me can do so easily. Girls constantly launching themselves in the air on a slippery and hard surface in the cold even more so. I think adult women are more prone to this kind of damage - when I was a child, as I said, I was pretty much invincible. I think this is one more reason why the eteri girls struggle so much once they reach physical maturity. They simply have a harder time dealing with the injuries they already have. And I think eteri is especially irresponsible knowing this, because women's sports should be careful about technique to do things safely, and she clearly doesn't care even when girls physically cannot do what she wants. Like Alina said, working limbs are much better than trophies. I ve seen people (Russians) defend eteri by saying even if the girls' bodies break they'll be set for life and famous. How useless. In 20 years they'd rather be functioning and poor.
