In this lesson, we will learn how to solve quadratic equations using the square root property and by completing the square. The square root property tells us that if x^2 = k, then x = +/- sqrt(k). We can use this to solve a quadratic of the form (ax + b)^2 = k. For quadratics that are not of this form, we can create the form using a process known as completing the square. This process creates a perfect square trinomial on one side which can be factored into a binomial squared. We can then use our square root property to obtain a solution.
