@Trinidad Wayne no doubt, Homey. Also would put Jeru Da Damaja up there too cuz Sun Rises in the East was a hands down classic and Jeru was in his prime then too. Dope lyricist with street consciousness. Meth had hard momentum too coming off of 36 Chambers and he dropped Tical in '94 which went platinum with two classic singles off the bat. '94 was a classic year in hip hop.

@@doncarter6705 you must not have read what I was responding to. Dude said that nobody was on Nas level IN 1994...that's false cuz when Ready To Die dropped, it took over the entire rap industry and he had NYC completely on lock late '94 and all throughout '95. It doesn't mean there weren't other classic dope MCs doing there thing but Biggie was the most successful and the hottest that year and a half. As for straight MCing skills, Biggie was most definitely on Nas level. Every aspect of rhyming, storytelling, wordplay and rhyme scheming Biggie mastered. Yeah, he mostly rapped about street shit but he was eventually going to do more and you saw a glimpse of it even in Ready To Die with Suicidal Thoughts and Things Done Changed. And in Life After with songs like Sky's the Limit, My Downfall, I Miss You etc. If Nas had died the same time Biggie had died, there work would be comparable. Matter of fact, Nas admitted to borrowing from Biggie in Last Real N Alive and his champagne sipping, designer clothes rhymes were straight out of Biggie's playbook. And Nas is my #1 all time MC but I'm just stating facts.

Nature, 50 and Vegas were all talented but all had obstacles and somehow 50, who seemed to have more stacked against him than anyone, was the only one who could work his way out of it. When Vegas was in the 3LW video and had tracks like Narcotics and Theme of New York floating around, I really thought he might be the next one to blow. I couldn't imagine that we'd be here 20 years later and still no album or anything.
