Exactly. In high school choir we sang a song in Xhosa, it’s SO difficult to do the clicks and such if it’s not something you grew up doing! We had to sort of use surrogate sounds to get as close as we could, but it was not nearly as clean as it should have been!
@elle-izalogan9372

@@everlasting9292 I'm learning isiXhosa as an adult with no experience in N-C-languages. I find the clicks not challenging on their own, but getting your tongue from the x/c/q-click to another letter without a slight pause is my biggest struggle. Many native Bantu-language speakers/singers have repeatedly asked not to treat their language as a party trick, or call their clicks "noises", but to see it as it is: a part of their languages. Real languages, people use to communicate in. And still to this day people treat it like in this video description. "She can even do the clicks." Yes, of course she can. It's her language.

Diana is probably the only representative of the mass music industry here. Her overall vocal range is 4 octaves, singing range is 3 octaves (C3-D6), Diana owns the most complex techniques - yodel, extreme vocal techniques - growl, rattle, distortion, Diana can deepen her larynx, which makes her voice become like a man's , but also sings perfectly with female singing voices from contralto to soprano, C6 is already a whistle register. But the main unique feature of Diana is the ability to extract chord memorization with her voice, many people hear both low and high parts of her voice at the same time, as if 2 voices are singing, but in fact 3-4 of the same tone strength are visible on the spectrogram. In which song Dimash performs yodel don’t tell me, I’m also interested in extreme types of vocals that Diana owns - growl, rattle, distortion, throat singing. All this is Diana's mind, I have not heard anything like this from Dimash. Recently, Diana took part in the scoring of a new feature film Spirit of Baikal, where in addition to scoring the sounds of nature and animals, Diana also voiced the ice break on Lake Baikal. You know, having a wide range does not mean that Dimash owns the techniques that Diana owns. But the main unique feature of Diana is the ability to extract chord memorization with her voice, many people hear both low and high parts of her voice at the same time, as if 2 voices are singing, but in fact 3-4 of the same tone strength are visible on the spectrogram. It is this polyphonic feature of Diana's voice that gives her the ability to change the characteristics of her voice, which your Dimash cannot do.

@@Pink_Lemonade_Axolotl No, vocally according to the fach and vocal characteristics Diana is a mezzo-soprano, *she is not a natural contralto* despite her excellent ability to play the contralto role. I'm a fan of hers and have been following her for a long time. She is far from being a dramatic contralto. She has had a perfect timbre changing technique since she was 14 years old. I call her a lyrical contralto in popular singing, because she plays this role perfectly, but far from being dramatic, her natural voice is soft, but also *she is not a natural lyrical contralto*, but rather mezzo. It's her technique that causes that androgynous voice. The correct term is "mezzo-contralto", but I call it lyrical anyway, because few people know the characteristics of a soprano, mezzo, contralto and in popular singing, this can be considered contralto, despite not being natural.

That boy singing queen of the night? That was me at that age, I had a seven octave vocal range. Then I started smoking like the idiot I was, thanks to peer pressure, and my insanely misguided belief. The other kids would think I’m cool. From that very first puff, my career as a singer was over, because I became addicted and smoked for over three decades. I smoked mostly out of stress, after being diagnosed with severe Crohn’s disease when I was only 20. I went through 37 surgeries, and the only thing that calm my nerves were smoking, or so I thought. I know better now, but it’s too late, that vocal range is now limited to maybe two if I’m lucky, raspy, and just absolutely horrific, and it’s my own fault for being so stupid. I don’t want to sound preachy, because I know I wouldn’t listen when people kept telling me to quit, but I’m speaking from experience, not to mention nearly dying four times because of it, it’s a dead end, especially if you want to be a vocalist. I had something special and I threw it away. Unintentionally, please, don’t make the same mistake I did, because you have to live with that regret for the rest of your life, and it absolutely kills me that I was that stupid! О, два моих любимчика: Диана Анкудинова и Тим Фауст! Они просто невероятны! У обоих фантастический диапазон, а у Тима еще и убойный юмор!

I'd highly reccomend the likes of Den or really any Beatboxer to look into as they incorporate a lot of vocal techniques as seen on these lists into full on beats and songs. Truly incredible stuff.
