I did some additional tests: All preset modes are affected by the dimming except for the Creator preset (sRGB and DCI-P3 mode). The same dimming behavior also happens below 100% brightness, but the jump in nits is not as steep as at max brightness. For example: At 50% brightness it's a jump from about 117 nits to 99 nits.

When you referenced issues with colour accuracy, keep in mind that DCI-P3 is a cinema standard, it is meant to have a green tint due to the format of cinema projectors. White point should be X 0.3140, Y 0.3510 which is closer to 6300K.

a little reminder, to test real world motion performance in pursuit, you need to match the relative target speed to the relative resolution. what matters in game is the amount of movement in degrees/time not amount of pixels shifted/time. rotating your viewpoint 103° will make 1920 pixels shift on a FHD monitor, 2560px on a QHD one, etc. So with increased resolutions you also need to increase the pursuit target speed.

I checked it and it still was detectable for my pc as a second monitor but it did not show anything. Not even the menu saying "no signal" or sth like that. I returned it to dell. UPS tracking makes it possible to see that Dell got it back 7 days ago. But the support is the worst nightmare i have ever seen: No updates, no communication after the returning.. it is terrible. I checked the amazon website in germany. You cannot buy this product at the moment. On May 5th a customer comments that his one was broken too. I feel like there might be some bigger issues with some produced alienwares 2725df.... I am so upset and cannot recommend it because of that. I should have gone for msi instead.

Anyone else notice odd gamma behavior in Creator SRGB mode?? Creator mode is the only mode that seems to clamp to proper srgb color space so you will not have oversaturation but in Creator mode with gamma 2.2 seems to wash out the picture in dark areas. It's very strange behavior and never seen in any other monitor I have used in the past. Blacks are actually lifted less in 2.0 gamma than in 2.2. So if you don't want over statured colors in sdr color space you have to either live with gamma of 2.0 so the unit comes out of black faster or select gamma 2.4 which in some cases can look a bit too dim.

With motion clarity and high refresh rates at this quality, you should only sell this at 4K. In most cases, you don't need resolutions at 4k with a display this size, but it becomes necessary with text fringing and potentially reading small symbols and text for hours at a time. This display's low nits and pixel shifting exacerbate potential eye strain issues. Hopefully, future, cheaper OLED monitors resolve these issues regardless of resolution.

I have two questions hoping you can help me out: Do you, by any chance, know whether the sRGB mode active in SDR mode influences the HDR mode, or not? I've heard there are some monitors that do that, it is usually recommended to always disable sRGB in SDR mode before turning on HDR which would be a bit annoying. And lastly...do you have calibration data for the Philips? I know these are not universally transmissible for all units of the same model, but I guess trying yours over not having a calibration at all could stil, be benefitial. ^^ Thanks in advance.

I'm also confused about the details of FO27Q3's HDMI 2.1 and DP1.4... whether it's superior to SS's 10G/4L, and whether the PS5's maximum 4K mapping can achieve 120Hz? What about VRR status? The whole brightness thing is so confusing to me: 1. The older QD-Oleds (like the AW3423dwf) could reach over 230 nits no problem. So reaching this brightness level with a 2nd/3rd generation QD-Oled should not be a problem at all. Pixel Density on the AW2725DF and AW3423DWF is the same btw. 2. The AW2725DF can produce over 240nits in test environments and in HDR. So it should be able to do this in real world SDR content as well. But there is also no reason why Dell would program the monitor in the way they did unless the monitor can't reach those brightness values in real world and they want to hide it. Can Dell fix this behavior with a firmware update and push overall brightness in real world content ? If the MSI Model is much better I'm willing to pay the 200€ more here in Germany.

My only issues: - VRR Flicker at low FPS, I play a lot of Tarkov and its horrific in and out of the menus with the brightness all over the place. Disabling VRR mitigates it (but why do that on an expensive monitor), will try a new 2.1 DP cable and see. - Black screen for a brief second when alt tabbing from full screen, my G7 did this too so not the end of the world. overall though for the 700 Quid I paid for it I am very happy, especially when my XB271 I used to own cost the same 5/6 years ago.

Already ordered the AW2725F and was expecting the VRR flicker to continue tbh. Sad to see, but there is no apparent solution for OLED flicker with VRR (in any monitor, even G-SYNC Ultimate, due to gamma shift) and in tarkov it is specially bad due to black levels and frame-time fluctuation. LG had no black screen when alt tabbing as far as i remember tho. Motion clarity on the LG is insane, compared to the G7 which was already excelent. Perhaps because DSC. With 1440p and 360 Hz you need Compression with DP 1.4a. This can cause some problems with VRR. Alienware said they will solve this problem with a firmware where you can enable/diable DSC. In this case you cant go 360 Hz.

@@PillokunI made the switch from the Acer 390hz and don’t regret it. Can’t stand LCD. I love to see all of the new QD-OLED monitors offer a glossy display, but it's a shame Samsung again does not use a polarizer to eliminate their raisng black level issue. Therefore the QD-OLEDs are out for me. Whats interesting here, as you used the LG 27inch Model as comparison, LG refreshed their 2023 Model (27G"R"95QE-B). The refreshed model (27G"S"95QE-B) offers a glossy instead matte screen, with 1300nits peak brightness, typical brightness of 275nits (probably MLA technology), 240hz and the same old pixel structure. So compared to the new QD-OLEDs a little brighter, no raising black level issue, but of course 240hz insteatd of 360hz and worse with text.

I sent mine AW2725DF back. In games with not buggy hdr implementation it is cool (Dead Space Remake, Days Gone), also it is great for fast FPS games, but in everything else it is only okay in nonHDR Games or buggy . Windows HDR implentation is simply a headack, Windows SDR is too dark, in HDR Mode you have to fix srgb mode with a fittig gamma2.2 mode icc-profile (without the contrast rates are far off). All Streaming services I know/use are not supporting hdr or 4k, accept netflix with a lot of workarounds in really buggy state. HDR in youtube is great, but accept some benchmark videos it is really rare in everyday videos. Only HDR400 is in Windows near usuable with the icc-profile hacks, but still then it is hard for my eyes. In fitting games like Dead Space you have to change to HDR1000 to have the bright enough highlights everytime you want to play, but it really looks fascinating. Darkness and 10-bit colours are my real highlights of the monitor, but not enough for the price.
