As a general rule I wouldn't trust a generic aliexpress product in a safety critical manner i.e brake systems, driveline components etc but for accent pieces and accessories sure why not. The thing is a lot of branded aftermarket stuff is made in china too but that brand has gone to the effort of finding good suppliers which is something you could do yourself but its a minefield. As for the chain tensioner I wouldnt be too scared of it to be honest as it should not be under much stress if the axle nut is as tight as it should be.

Personally I would not buy anything that could potentially break and kill you, off off Aliexpress. It may look good, but you don’t know the metallurgy is correct, heat treating, quality control. I bought a s1000 carbon fender off there for $100. It was kinda meh, but it was $100, and saved like 3lbs of unsprung weight though

You will be happy with your choice of chain tensioners. Ive had the Lightspeeds on my 1000rr for 6 months or so, so I cant speak for long term durability, but it has been 6 months of hard, abusive riding. If they were a weak product, the adjustment bolts would be sloppy, and they are like new still, and I have the back wheel off a lot comparing tires. I love your videos, please keep them coming!!!!!!

Essential parts that need to be good I wont order from china (brake pumps, chains, engine parts etc) but add ons like blinkers, clutch and brake levers (lever only) or phone holders are fine to me.

Well I’ve just fitted AliExpress chain adjusters to my ZX6R. Main issue is I’ve had to feed the axle through from the left and axle on the right which is the opposite of where it was (and should be). Also tightening up the nut to the adjuster block is more solid than the chain adjuster body.

Those chain adjusters look nice but I would not throw the old ones away if they are not cracked or damaged, hold on to these just in case there is an issue with the new ones. Did you put a light coating of grease on the axle before reinstalling it? I always do and it makes it easier to remove and helps with preventing any corrosion. Looking forward to seeing you out on the track on your BMW after you made your suspension changes! Let us know how much this made a difference please! Ride safe! :)

Girl, that looks good but function the same as your chain tensioner that comes stock on all those sport bikes. If your chain is stretching that bad you need a better chain! D.I.D. 530 gold , well over 10K in tensile strength. My hayabusa way heavier than your bmw and never had chain tensioner issues with a good D.I.D. chain. It's my opinion but also experience with cheap chains and good ones. And I'm only speaking as to my experience with chains. Ride safe, watch out for them toes green eyes 🤪🤪.

Chain adjusters are fine. It’s the tightened axle holding it all together (correctly torqued of course). Also leave the axle nut on a few threads when tapping the axle out so you don’t damage the threads 👌🏼😎

I have a 2016 S1000RR, I have the 4 racing chain adjusters, blue to match my bike (made in Italy). Construction is very good and I have not had one problem with them. I ride hard and fast and my bike gets a lot of looks. I would not buy chinese parts that concerns the performance of my bike, they will fail at one point or another. The only chinese part that I have on my bike is the solo seat cover ($40.0), it looks ok. Other wise, all of the other after market parts are from europe. Ride hard and fast, but be safe about it.

The quality of the metals used in most aliexpress parts is a lot lower and the nuts/bolts are usually very soft. If its non critical bolt-ons then go for it, but if its a potential safety item then hold out for a quality part.

Hitting the axle threads with a steel socket...😱😭 Once the axle is tightened the adjuster is out of the equation so I doubt the cheap adjuster would have been a problem. It would have had to crack under the nut itself. But that said, I wouldn't cheap out with any critical parts. Foot pegs, levers, axle adjusters. Maybe you can buy cheap mirrors but that's it.

Original doesn't mean anything these days parts are purchased from all over the world by really big car and bike manufacturer's trust me I've been in the car manufacturing industry for over 20 years if they can get a part which is cheaper just by a fraction they will use it one example is brake pads from Toyota they are sold in a toyota bag by Toyota dealers but they are actually mintex. We as a consumer will think they are real Toyota pads but the fact is Toyota doesn't manufacture brake pads they buy direct from Mintex. Mintex also supply to Ford and Jaguar.

I wouldn't even buy a toothbrush from Aliexpress. Just looking at the adjuster you took off beside the new ones, and the design appears slightly different (thinner back section and sharper inside angles could be stress points), not to think about the (cheap) material and (cheap) manufacture process. Any safety-related parts and I stick with OEM or aftermarket with good/proven reputation. Piglet knows best.
