An open source Arduino based robotized bartender that makes perfect mixed drinks and cocktails. Available for purchase in my store here: www.etsy.com/listing/46252375...
I'm so impressed by this design - Do you have any picture of it on the backside/inside? Very curious about how it does work, I'm guessing you're using an belt to move it - But what do you use for "activate" the dispenser and move the entire glass/cupholder upwards?

Thanks. The backside is enclosed just like the front. All the mechanics are compact and tucked away inside the main square tube. There only opening is on the bottom of the tube to enable movement. Yes the side to side movement is done via belt drive, while the up and down is via lead screw. You can actually see it in the middle, along two linear guide rods.

should have it interfaced with a POS system with pre-programed drinks, It needs to be faster, raise it up, use gravity to feed to a central pour location where the user just puts in glassed. This way if it had 3 or more ingredients they would all arrive at the glass at the same approximate time, no more waiting as the glass went to each bottle.

That would be an efficient approach, some people have done it that way. But i wanted my device to be "robotic beauty" designed to entertain you rather than a industrial machine designed to replace a human bartender.

I agree, this has a nice user experience / novelty kind of thing to it. It just looks awesome!

Can I ask you what motor you used for this? Your motor seems to be really quick compared to a lot of other similar projects. Love the simple / clean design BTW!

Its just a run-of-the-mill NEMA 17 size stepper, nothing special. I just chose to run it hard instead of babying it. Abandoning arduino for 85Mhz teensy also plays a part, as arduino isn't fast enough to handle acceleration related math and then fails to push enough impulses. Thank you for the compliment!
