Matt and Dawn from Tea Angle take a look at Raw (aka Sheng) Pu'er tea through the lens of their most recent tea cake - Ice Breaker --- Check out our tea store online www.teaangle.com
Nothing beats a proper aged Sheng. I am currently enjoying a 1980’s beast of a tea!!

As 80s kids, we approve :) Proper aged sheng is indeed something to behold

I'm a little of a Pu'er head but I discovered your Channel during my recent admiration of Da hong pao. Your excellent video of that subject led me to this. Wanting to support an up and coming tea resource I could hardly say no to buying a cake. I look forward to tasting it. I really enjoyed the explanation of Hui gan. Learning Chinese words, pronunciations and phrases are a huge plus. Like 甜茶 and 苦茶 sweet and bitter tea I'm looking at you Lao man'e. :)

I'm new to puer, specially the raw one. I just buy some 2016 menghai and 2019 jingmai tea from online shop. Still not really sure when I sip my tea what should and shouldn't taste from a puer, but I get that bitter to sweet sensation or what I believe after watching your video is a Hui Gan and stinging sensation on the tip of my tongue. Does that mean I got a good raw puer?

Yeah, it sounds like some good pu'erh you have there. And once you start tasting different teas from different regions, you'll also start to be able to tell the differences there as well. There's no short cut to understanding pu'erh, or tea in general though. The best way is to continue to drink lots of tea and see which are the ones that speak to you or which teas are the ones you find yourself gravitating towards

Brew puer tea by yixing teapot is better.

That's debatable. Depends on what qualities you're trying to pull out from the tea.
