Hi there! I'm Kim with WriteShop. Thanks for asking about WriteShop Primary! Each book has 10 lessons. The Intro includes three scheduling plans, with the most popular option allowing three weeks per lesson. Following this plan-and working every other day-most families finish one book in a school year. Typically, you can expect to spend 15-30 minutes per day on writing activities.

I have a rising 2nd (with some 3rd) grader, and a rising kindergartener. I bought Books B and A for them respectively, and am just trying to figure out how to teach two kids using different books. I noticed in the book there's a section on this (amazing!!), but the tables/schedules are slightly different from each other (Book A: "...first Monday of a new lesson, plan to do daily Guided Writing Practice..."; Book B: "...first Monday of a new lesson, plan to introduce each child's new lesson with the Activity Set Worksheet..."). Which one is correct or best practice? Thank you

I think it makes the most sense to follow the schedule for Book B with both children, doing the Activity Set Worksheet on the first day of the 3-week cycle. This will introduce each child to the theme and topic of their own upcoming lesson. If you do this, go ahead and skip Guided Writing Practice (GWP) for the kindergartener on that day. But since the first GWP of each lesson is the most important, make sure you follow THAT one before doing the pre-writing activities of Activity Set 2. Don't hesitate to give us a call if you need more ideas or clarification. We're happy to help! writeshop.com/contact ~ Kim
