I mean who doesn't love John Powell?! He is so genuine and funny! He's the best composer in my opinion.

I hope he takes over Star Wars when JW retires - his job he did on Solo was perfection

I think Giachinno's style is better. But the new films are a lot worse than either JP or MG's scores, not even worth watching.

@@TB1M1 What do you mean? Giacchino is quite good but his score for Rogue One was dreadful. While JP's solo sounded as good as JW in terms of orchestrations, balance and strength of the themes

@@jwc6621 I like most of Powells scores but Solo was completely unmemorable, far to many notes. The Han theme sounded similar to Indiana Jones. Of course JP had to use that material so it's not his fault. It's not necessary to have so many notes

@@TB1M1 I'm not comparing JP to JW... JW is the master. I'm saying that JP does a FAR better job on star wars than MG - in which Rogue One was the MOST unmemorable...

Like the series BUT why ask the same questions once again? I would think that new questions would naturally pop up in between these interviews?

I hugely appreciate these interviews, you can just tell that you share our, the viewers love of JP's music. If there are more interviews in the stars, would it be possible to submit questions? Because I'm pretty sure I know all the interviews out there and he has answered the thing with the Mendelssohn concerto a couple of times but I still have many questions left. For instance he talked about sibelius being a breakthrough influence on dragons, but I can't for the life of me figure out what piece or stylistic device he means. Or what inspiration he and Hans drew on for KFP. The list goes on. Keep up the good work!

@@stumm_and_laut If you go through Star wars rots for example, there are nods everywhere to Stravinsky and Holst. But JW weaves them into his own style, that's why it's so clever. Duel of fates motif is from a well known work

@@TB1M1 I know what you mean. You can clearly hear Holst and Korngold and Dvorak in STAR WARS, i. e. Korngold in the Main Title. But even though JP said somewhere that Sibelius was a breakthrough for Dragons I can't find anything in Sibelius repertoire that sounds like Dragons (or rather vice versa).
