Almaty metro 2023
I was on the metro in St. Petersburg, in Moscow, in Minsk, in Kyiv, in Prague, in Samara. I haven't been on the metro in Almaty yet. Thus, the Alma-Ata metro became the seventh metro that I visited!
As a child, I really liked the subway. My grandfather took me as a little boy to various interesting places. And we lived in the suburbs and traveled by train on the railway and then by metro. Perhaps this is where my love for the railway, trains, railway infrastructure, subway and in general everything that travels on rails comes from. Over time, my enthusiasm for the metro faded, but somewhere in the background the metro loomed... All these underground stations, underground tunnels, metro trains... Well, interesting! And since I remembered my childhood desire to visit all the subways in different cities where they exist, then perhaps this second video will develop into a further challenge and quest :-) Why not? Vanlife metro is not a hindrance. Or metro vanlife? In short, long live Vanlife metro!
In general, Almaty has a metro. Almaty metro. Or Almaty metro in Kazakh. KGP "Metropolitan"
Alma-Ata Metro (kaz. Almaty Metro) is an off-street high-speed rail transport system in Almaty. The first and only one in Kazakhstan, the second in Central Asia (after Tashkent), the sixteenth and last in the territory of the former USSR. Opened December 1, 2011.
KGP "Metropolitan" in Almaty was put into operation in December 2011, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence.
The line of the first stage of the Almaty metro (8.56 km) included seven stations.
The first stage of the Almaty metro transported up to 22 thousand passengers per day.
According to the master plan for the development of the city of Almaty, it is planned to build 24 stations in the Almaty metro, 11 of which are in operation as of 2023.
The length of the tunnels of the existing section of the Almaty metro is 11.5 km, and the total length of the metro is planned to be increased to 45 km. In 2023, the first stage of the first line of the Almaty metro has an operational length of 13.4 km and consists of 11 stations (6 of which are deep, the remaining five are shallow). It runs from Raiymbek Ave. in a southern direction under Nazarbayev Ave. to Abay Ave. and further along it in a westerly direction to Momyshuly Street. There are 15 four-car trains running along the Almaty metro line. The traffic interval in the Almaty metro is 12 minutes on weekends, 10 minutes on weekdays during off-peak times, and during rush hours it is reduced to 8 minutes. The maximum speed of Almaty metro trains is 60 km/h. Travel time along the first stage of the first line of the Almaty metro is approximately 16 minutes. The rolling stock of the Almaty metro is modern South Korean-made Hyundai Rotem trains with a through passage, air conditioning in the cabins, good noise insulation, a fully automatic driving mode and other features.

As a child, I really liked to sleep in the car rather than in the house. Now it turns out it was car camping! Such a vanlife! I live in my car quite professionally. True, not all the time, but with enviable frequency. In Western countries, a special term was coined during the night in the car and in Vanlife - boondocking. It means sleeping in a car in a random place, not intended for sleeping in a car, with no or minimal infrastructure in this place. For some reason, in our country another definition of vanlife is more common - carcamping, that is, a narrower phenomenon.
