My favorite childhood show. JR was the SOB everyone loved to hate including that devilish grin on his face. There was something unique about the way he knew how to twist the knife in the wound and that along with his grin became his trademark throughout the entire show. When he was out to destroy or better yet ruin someone he didn't use violence, he used his wits and that hurt a lot more than just plain physical hurt. I remember people having bumper stickers at the time that read: " i shot the bastard". There's always utorrent or online stores for those of you who like to watch Dallas again nowadays.

I think that with a re-boot that it would draw a lot of people to it. I had got into the previous reboot and WTF.... what happened. I dont even think that all of that last episode it showed was completely aired. My husband watched it Faithfully also and he was like it seemed like it was just jerked off of the network by aliens. I thought maybe I had just missed something or that it was just the end of that season . I mean how did they end the series? J.r died and that was so terribly sad. I own the series and currently watching season 10. I remember watching it as a child up till season 9, now , finally getting the chance to finish watching the whole lot. I will never forget the who shot JR episodes. The audience was in suspense all summer until the fall season began. Everyone was speculating on who they thought did it. I had a tee shirt with a picture of a big cowboy hat that had printed underneath it "keep it under your hat, I shot JR". People were even making bets on who they thought shot JR. I have not seen an episode of a TV program that gained that much suspense since then.

I commend the executive producers (Ms. Cidre) for the latest installment of the series. As a teenager, watching "DALLAS" with my sisters and brother was a part of our Friday night routine. The writing and new characters honored the legacy of the original series, and have earned their places in the storyline. If there is ever another re-boot, I hope that there are a few changes: (1.) When plotting the new story lines, steer clear of the drug cartel and associated violence. After surviving the initial close call with the Venezuelan thug, the scenarios in which the characters survive kidnappings and conflicts with the Mexican gangs virtually unscathed, unnecessarily stretches the credibility of the story very thin. The rescue of Emma Brown/Rylan was unbelievable, while her implied rape was very credible. (2.) If Linda Gray and Patrick Ewing are not available for future casting, there is more than enough material availed in the final episodes to generate a new timeline. /A./ Beginning with the revelation that the late J. R. fathered a daughter, and half sister to John Ross, the storyline can be developed with new characters, and continue the Ewing lineage through these two characters; /B./ With the section of oil rich Ewing land negotiated by Elaina for J. R.'s theft/embezzlement from the Ramos patriarch, her character could provide the series with another credible business tycoon, and nemesis of John Ross, *despite the fact that they share a son (or daughter). Elaina's contribution may be particular interesting, given her reconciliation with Christopher prior to his murder (by hitman ordered by Nicolas Trevino). Christopher was no total idiot, and would most likely have provided for her to enjoy partial ownership of his methane extraction patent in the event of his untimely death; /C./ The death of Christopher Ewing may not necessarily have ended (?) Farraday's lineage. Given his loose association with Christopher's late, biological mother Kristen Shepherd, it's reasonable to presume that he fathered siblings who would fight for a share of profits from Christopher's methane extraction patent, and provide us with more interesting storyline developments. /D./ Various assets owned by Pamela Rebecca Barnes already provides her with the means to regroup, and prepare to avenge herself for the mistreatment she endured at the hands of the Ewings. Perhaps in association with Elaina Ramos, the two "ladies" would be formidable business partners, and a serious threat to John Ross and his sister. . . .just sayin'.
