I have watched this video so many times. I love BAM so so much. I started watching AMC because of them. I could listen to Liz and Eden talk all day long.

This is easily the best panel. They're both so genuinely down to earth and hilarious ❤︎

Liz and Eden's anger at their lack of sexy times is one of my favorite things in this world. Had a chance to talk to each of them at length, such lovely, genuine people.

Every couple star Eden ever had seem to be be smitten the her. Bianca had the girls going crazy like her mama drove men crazy. loved her and Reese. Wish it was written better. But Tamara And Eden were amazing together

i was never a fan of bianca and maggie. i really liked bianca with zoe and then marissa. reese and lena were my least favorite of bianca's love interests, not helped at all by the biphobic undertones of reese's storyline. for all of its flaws, zoe's storyline was really ahead of it's time and i wish it got more love. i agree that zoe should have been played by a trans actress, but i really don't like eden implying that zoe's sexuality was somehow lesser/shafting bianca's storyline because bianca was a cis lesbian and zoe was trans.

At first I also felt a little uncomfortable by Eden’s answer. I do think she was in a difficult position where there (based on the boos) were some transphobic BAMmers in the crowd. Given the circumstances, I think Eden tried her best. It did seem like she wanted to stick by Zoe and also wanted to 1) acknowledge the story’s transphobic flaws and 2) acknowledge that the way Zoe’s storyline was written was (probably) so Bianca could have a romantic relationship that could push passed the censors and some picky conservative fans. To these fans, like Erica, in all the ways the mattered, Zoe was a “man” and this did impact how some viewers perceived Bianca’s sexuality. She was the only character who saw Zoe romantically as a woman and that was a specific choice. Now I do really love how Bianca (and Babe) could see Zoe for the person she was. However, I do also highly question the writers’ intentions. Within four months Zoe and Bianca kissed as many times as Maggie and Bianca had over the course of five years. In two of those three kisses, Zoe was not yet out and viewers still perceived her as a man. There were so many ways the writers could have acknowledged both Bianca and Zoes’ romantic identities. If Bianca had gotten to be in a full on love triangle with a cis woman and Zoe, that would have been something. If the intention was to showcase how sexuality and gender identity were distinct, Zoe could have been bisexual and had a triangle of her own with a man (Ryan or Josh would have worked quite well). But that would have given the writers the same issue they had with Bianca - fully showing several shades of queerness. If the intention was to show how love can trump physical bodies, a macho character like Ryan being able to see Zoe for who she is (in addition to Bianca) would have been huge. But no, it was just Bianca. So it did strike me as the writers wanting to appear progressive, while also appeasing their more conservative viewers. Cis lesbian representation was precious at that time and there were better ways to display Bianca’s sexuality AND how Zoe was a part of that. The writers also decimated Bianca’s longest running relationship in the process. BAM could have broken up for non-cheating reasons. Or Maggie could have given any real character motivation for why she had cheated. Or Maggie could’ve been recast and been the onscreen love triangle. Instead they brought her back just long enough to beg for forgiveness while providing zero explanation, and to berate Zoe. The writers destroyed Maggie’s character to prop up Zoe, when Zoe was charming and lovely all on her own. Then by the storyline’s end, they had Bianca over Maggie. They could have left a window for their relationship to resume offscreen, but they didn’t care. So for all of those reasons, I do understand why non-transphobic BAMmers were upset by how it all went down. I do agree that for all its flaws, the storyline was ahead of its time. As a young trans person, Zoe was the first trans character I saw who didn’t die, and that alone was huge. Then she also got to have a love interest and friends who accepted her, and a clear path toward happiness. I’ll always be grateful to AMC for that.
