This is such a nice car for the money. Spacious and upscale. A miss that the Calligraphy isn't available in hybrid, since your tester is definitely missing out on the extra sound deadening and acoustics. I also think they should have stuck to 19 inch wheels. These 20 inch ones are not amazing, but it's hilarious that they offer 21 inch wheels for the gas model.

My 2012 elantra is on its 12th year with just regular maintenance, so i might get lucky on the reliability of the next gen palisade just like i did with my elantra.

I love y'all's videos so much. I'm from Tennessee but two of my favorite car reviews channels on here are Canadian haha. I have the Hybrid Calligraphy, and I absolutely love it. I think it would sell very well in Canada. As you two have harped on many times, it sucks that the top trim doesn't have a bench 2nd row seat. But ultimately that isn't an issue for me. There is quite a big gap between the base model and the Calligraphy wrt useful features. However, the difference between the Limited and Calligraphy (in the US) is quite minimal. Tbh, the only reason I chose the Calligraphy is because, where I live, it is only about $2k more and in my ideal color. One last thing. I'm in healthcare and I actually LOVE the UV sanitizer. I use it almost every time I get into the car. Usually my phone, but I'll probably use it to sanitize masks in the future. I don't think it was a gimmick largely because it was made in response to the COVID pandemic. In the US, it was so bad at one point that we were running out of PPE and having to reuse masks days to weeks at a time. UV effectively kills viruses, so this would have been extremely useful during that period. Thankfully things aren't dire anymore, but just wanted to say that the UV tray was made with intention.

The Hyundai/KIA/Genesis Group certainly are bringing their A-Game. Is great styling enough? If they can over deliver on price and reliability… even just a little bit, they may be able to take a decent slice of Toyota and Honda away. I doubt they’ll EVER have their solid reputations, but right now… is the perfect time to jump in. Especially as Toyota and Honda are getting a bit cheeky with their pricing and their stellar reliability reputation has been slipping (somewhat). If I were at Hyundai, this might be the Best time to ‘jab’ at them.. Hell, I might even try a Pickup (from their local/international fleets)… while the Tacoma TRD Pro Off-Trail Limited pickups are crossing the $70,000 price point. Good for the Hyundai! Great channel! The problem with Hyundai and Kia is that the dealers do the "market adjustment fee" on newer or popular models. Local dealers have the new Santa Fe at $5-$7K above MSRP, Tucson is $2-$4K, etc. Varies by trim levels. You don't want to know the mark up for the Palisade. The Santa Cruz and Elantra are priced below sticker. Kia does the same thing. I understand Zack's comment about the free market dictating price, but I can decide not to pay it. And I don't.

The people who used to buy Hyundai are ones looking for a deal. I leased a 2015 Sonata for $265 per month taxes in. It was a great deal. Now a Hyundai is expensive as anything else but not as reliable so why choose them over a Honda or Toyota??? However all cars have their problems.

No cars are as reliable as toyota. But with that logic, we should only buy those?

I’m not defending the Santa Fe, but look at “real” expensive cars, double the price and in 5 years worth the same as this one will.
