again a disappointment from maruti. the core of any car is the engine. again they have given the same old Fiat 1.3 lt engine. the most disappointing factor is they have removed the 1.6 lt engine. maruti is going to position this product against Hyundai creta, which has a 1.6 lt engine producing more power and refinement. I seriously don't understand why they are giving the age old engine in every car: ertiga, ciaz, brezza, now scross.

Ashutosh Pati Maruti really making fool it's customers by just putting same engine in all its vehicles. It's like changing Tiffin box but the food being same in all cases. It's further a way of cost reduction by maruti by purchasing same engine from Fiat for all its cars. Recently I drove new Diesel Verna 1.6 and I found the engine to be very refined and responsive.

Ashutosh Pati that's because people know that it's not worth to invest 15lakh for a maruthi car that's why they removed 1.6 since low sales. People are moving out of maruthi and choosing wrv, Ford Figo or ecosport which has much better engine and efficiency..

there's no point in buying a Maruti now. that same engine already feels underpowered on Ertiga and Baleno. I can't even imagine it on S-cross. I'm Seriously disappointed. Maruti will give all the new features and gimmicks by following the market and will launch all sorts of cars with same engine but will never spend anything on the R&D. And for people who said that Maruti is doing this because people won't buy high priced cars, you should check how Mahindra has grown after Scorpio and XUV500.

Would have preferred sunroof and ventilated seats in the car. Also they should have kept the option of 1.6l diesel engine n build it as per the order. Surprising again - no petrol engine. 😐 Was expecting either a 1.5l petrol engine or a 1.4l turbo charged petrol engine.

1.6 Lt engine from Fiat was the USP for S Cross. 1.3 Lt with only 87bhp sounds very less for a car of this dimension. Really don't understand the logic of removing the 1.6 Lt. People now a days are fine to spend a lakh rupees more on a car which is better looking and having fun driving experience. Keeping the bigger engine and having the facelift might have added to the appeal of the new S Cross.

Not a bad review at all. A little biased in my opinion. You could have talked on smaller but important things like the Sunglass holder, 12v power socket in the boot, 50:50 parcel tray, illuminated footwells and cushioned dead pedal.

I think the old s cross did not sell well because of the bland design it had. I think now the 1.6L engine model would be a better buy. But sadly it’s not available now.

maruti sure is going down... they dont have the engineering skills of other companies... they cann just borrow fiats engine i.e 1.3ltr .. I'm seeing this engine since i was 11 12 yr old and now im 23 ... no innovation nothing.. ..good knws why ppl buy maruti :)

Panchal B test rode both the ecosport 2017 and the scross 2017. Ecosport is far better. The only thing scross is better than the ecosport is that it is slightly more spacious.

Maruti engineers haven't given any powerful and sporty car after swift.A car of this size cannot be driven by 1.3l and 87hp. come on bring up the 1.6l engine please,this car is no match for creta or any lower compact SUV even brezza is better than this because of its lesser weight. And where are the rear ac vents. Except for shvs and front bumper it looks like Maruti have recycled the same old weak car.
