I'll offer you a tip since I've been playing craps for 26 years (I'm 51). Use different colored dice and set the dice (left / right) the same color. This allows you to actually see what's happening to each of the dice as you practice your settings and your throws. (eg set a red on the left and a blue on the right). Now you can see when you throw what happened to the red (left) and the blue (right). This helps you determine axis and rotations. You should also monitor your dice throwing with video so you can examine your throw thoroughly. I find sometimes it's better to find a throwing motion that is not only comfortable, but not tiring. There's nothing worse than if you get into a long throwing session and you suddenly tire and you don't throw properly. Last, your feet are the most important piece. I plant one foot and never move that foot my entire throwing session. Moving your feet around, regardless of your throwing motion, will offset what you do in that throwing motion. If you are left handed lock your left foot in place. If you are right handed, lock your right foot in place. The weight should occur on the foot that is locked. Also, if you want to practice a good throw and you are practicing arm swing or hand swing, one of the things I learned over time is to use a wrist strap. Tighten the wrist strap considerably and it will lock your wrist in place. Now you only have to concentrate on method of throwing motion. Once you have that throwing motion down, take off the strap and your wrist muscle memory takes place. Here's my throwing motion (and again, my motion may not work for you but you can practice the philosophy when you create your own natural throwing motion). 1) I'm right handed so I lock my right foot in place. That foot never moves. Weight is placed on that foot during the throw. 2) I rub my fingers on my pants leg, not the table until I feel the heat. As I set the dice, my fingers cool but remain dry. 3) I set the dice to match what scenarios I've practiced and am going after. Regardless, I'm looking for dice consistency with numbers. 4) I manually lock my wrist in place. 5) I manually lock my elbow in place. 6) When I throw the dice, my arm swings like a pendulum, locked at the elbow and the wrist and it is similar in movement to a golfer's putt. Last, and most importantly, you can have off nights where your mechanics just aren't right or you aren't focused. On those nights, leave, practice at home and return the next day instead. Also, you should practice just before you go to the casino to ensure you are in the right mindset. Take care and love the hat, shirts and logo!!

Thank you for taking the time to share all of this information. I have used different colored dice to do what you said but after thousands of throws I have trained my eye to see which dice is what so I don’t do it no more. I agree that your stance is also important and I don’t move from my stance as much as possible. If you’d like to order some apparel for yourself you can check out my online store at www.HCSstore.com

Im glad to hear another person besides myself carries dices in the car. LOL! Like a pitcher on the mound throwing baseball at a specific target within the strike zone and having different combos to do it, a dice controller needs to do the same. Table position (LS1,LS2,RS1,RS2),dice grip,release and pitch, (LZ)landing zone, speed, and dice setting combos will definitely set you apart from the rest of the shooters. Mahalos for sharing and dig da killa shirt!!! Aloha

Still trying to perfect my technique, after a few years I have a nice set up at home to practice with and use casino grade dice, when experimenting with different sets there is certainly a pattern to how the dice behave with each set, that being said i recently tracked and recorded 700 rolls using the same set and it yields 5,6,8,9 being the most frequent numbers and of course the 7 leads the group every time with the 6 and 8 close behind, it is truly amazing.........

Great video Bryan . Enjoy all your videos very much, and I'm gonna follow you guys to see how it all adds up. Long time craps player, I'm 66 and been to Vegas many times. Also Atlantic City, Australia, Europe , and numerous cruise ships. I can't claim to be a lucky shooter, although I did have a 65 min roll at the old Vegas Club back in the day. Also was at the first one hour roll ever at the Main Street station when a elder Japanese man from Hawaii rolled for an hour and twenty. We can all claim our share of winning and losing trips. Win or lose , no one has more fun than me, but I have to admit to losing more than winning over the years. I have my doubts as to whether we can affect the outcome by setting the dice. Still, if I see you guys at the casino, I hope I can join in with your shoot. The odds at the craps table can be the best bet in the casino and if we can at least nudge them a bit in our favor that might give us a fighting chance in the long run. Good luck.

In all my years, Ive only witnessed 1 dice setter that truly seemed to control the results (even then it wasnt a home run). Lots have tried- myself included, but I am finding huge variables in the tables themselves. While I had some luck at the Cromwell getting the dice to die quickly and not bounce too hard..the table at Gold Coast was like a trampoline. Any skill i had was completely negated by the lively table. You also have different size tables, and now even non-felt surfaces....i wont give up...but its a near impossible task.

I don't know why people get all bent out of shape if someone is setting dice and it takes them 2 seconds, 5 seconds or 10 seconds to set and throw! I've seen random rollers that are superstitious that do things like rub the table three times in a circle with a dice, then tap them four times on the table, then look down the table with a blank stare for about 3 to 5 seconds as they breathe in deep and exhale long, and after all that they close their hand and shake the dice for another 5 seconds and chuck them down the table! So to those who think a dice controller slows the game down, it leads me to ask a few questions: 1) What makes the game slow? Is it the guy who is trying to control the dice and takes maybe eight seconds to set them and throw, or is it a full table with with about 8 to 20 players (precovid) waiting to get paid after each roll? Do you think paying the table gets done in 8 seconds? 2) Whether you believe in dice control or not, why do people only get upset about a guy spending a few seconds setting dice, but not the guy who has the superstitious routine that takes just as long, if not longer? 3) Again, whether or not you think a person is able to control dice or not, why would somebody become upset or disparage a person who might be a hot shooter and is making the table money after setting dice for a few seconds, but is actually not taking as long as the dealers who are taking a few minutes when they pay the whole table? The point is that bboth the shooter and dealers are doing their thing to pay you, which is a good thing people! Are some people's dislike of the "dice controller" concept one that takes precedent over making money at a table? I mean, seriously, get over it! It's just seconds. If you don't have a few seconds each roll, then maybe you shouldn't have gone to the casino that day if you didn't have the time!

Many will argue that dice setting has no value. I can understand their hesitation to accept it. My personal opinion, after many hours of practice, if you want to be able to consistently beat the average 5-8 rolls then you have to learn to set dice. This does not mean you will never seven out. But for me, across a hundred rolls, dice setting will beat a pure random rolls nearly every time. Consistently using the same motion and dice set does effect the outcome over time. It has for me anyway.

@@HawaiiCrapsShooters I refuse to even believe you're serious right now. You claim to be a dice setter, but you don't know what probability is? Even at 50-50 odds, long repetitive streaks of up to 15 or even 20 happen regularly. It's only in viewing a large sample size that we can clearly see the odds. Rolling 12 times without rolling a 7 proves nothing. To prove dice setting works, we'd need to see a large sample size of throws. In 1,000 rolls, a 7 should be rolled around 160 times. If dice setting works, you'd be able to roll far fewer 7s than that. Do you actually not understand that, or are you screwing with me?

just came back from the casino and wanted to implement your information. Today we didn't make money but I now see why I' 7-out in just a few rolls. Damn 6-1 combo keeps killing me. How/Where are the dice supposed to land, if and only when I can stop double pitching? Ideally what's the landing supposed to look like, 3/3 or 4/4 depending on what combo is on top, when it lands on the table? in a perfect world, would you like to see both dice 3/3 or 4/4 up and hitting the table with the opposite numbers? Landing the pairs on the felt all the time? Mahaloz for your time and mana'o

Yes you can double pitch BUT if one die rolls one pitch "foreword" and the other die single pitches "backwards" you get all sevens. So you get 4/16 or 25% ways to roll a seven. Random is it only 6/36 or 16.66 %

That statement " You can only roll a 7 if "one die" double pitches" was made by Dom in one of his videos. The truth is that either die can double pitch forward OR double pitch backwards or one die can "Single pitch" forward and the other die can "single pitch" backwards and you get all 7's. We talk about this in the Talking craps interview with David Carlin and showed it using two different colored dice. Check it out at KZitem " Same bet Talking craps" Good Luck at the tables.----G.

Hey Money Shot, I was wondering do you have a particular time of day/night preference when shooting dice in the casinos? And if so why?
@HawaiiCrapsShooters
4 жыл бұрын
I like to roll at around 6 am in the morning because that's usually when the drunkards are gone home and the table is pretty dead. If I cannot get up in time then 10 am is my next time slot. That's when they open a new table and I can easily slide into my spot, stick left. My next time slot would be around 6 pm. Tables are kinda busy but usually everyone is out to dinner. I don't like to shoot after 9 pm because tables get crazy. I like to shoot on the slow days too, Sunday to Thursday.

@@HawaiiCrapsShootersVery detailed answer, thank you for taking the time. I like the very early mornings too but I wasn't sure how the rest of the day went. I’m also not a fan of late evenings, I prefer a less crowded table so that stick right is available.

many of the shooters I see, only set the top 2 numbers & disregard the front (or back) numbers, then they tap the dice on the table & randomly chuck the dice & they fly all around the place (off axis) & they are hoping the two top numbers land the same top two numbers........ Hey Bryan, I really like this video. It's very informative, plus you even brought out something I do when I use the 3V set. I do the same thing--having the V on the bottom, for the same reason. Some people have told me that that the casinos don't mind, but a little preventive medicine to keep the casinos off your back, can go a long way. ☺ Quick question: Do you use a different dice set for different positions at the table? I, myself, use the Hardway dice set for my favorite position, Stick Left 1, but shooting from the end, I use either the 3V set, or what I call the Yo-Yo dice set (6/5-5/6). What is your take on using different dice sets for different position at the table?
@HawaiiCrapsShooters

Yes I use different dice sets for different positions and table conditions. It’s important to see what the dice and the table is giving you.

Great video, thanks for it. I have a small issue with it, or what you said. You said that if people are betting the don'ts, you take as they are betting against you. Why is this... there is no betting for or against you. Everyone is trying to make their own money. I say fuck everyone, I'm betting for me, I don't give two shits about the shooter. I'll bet whatever way is necessary for ME to win money. And if you're the shooter, you bet on you, and place your bet accordingly and I'll bet accordingly as well. Again great video a lot of info on it. And thank you for sharing it.

Thank you for your comment. I completely agree. I loved the video instructional aspect of it. However, the fact that he made a point to say he was going to start rolling sevens to purposely make other players lose is complete and utter hogwash. Any player that can consistently throw sevens on the come out of course will do that because they are sitting on the pass line and want an easy win. Saying the only reason he’s going to throw the dice that allows him to win is to make others lose was a low point of his video. I know superstition has a way of moving into gambling, sports and many other games but it is just that. There are far too many strategies that employ a combination of light and dark side betting. Everyone that plays is just trying to have their own personal winning experience. Loved the information and I’m now a subscriber 👍
