Thanks brotha! I was worried this one was a bit boring but I’m more than happy to put the information out there into the world!

some additional info here! the main reason a selvedge denim is so much narrower than an industral denim is because of the shuttle looms originally being hand operated. so because the shuttle had to be shot through by hand the fabric created couldn't be larger than an average persons armspan.

Thanks for the guide man. Can you suggest any affordable selvedge/Japanese denim brands?
@wheres_galdo
3 жыл бұрын
The most affordable selvedge would definitely be Uniqlo, unbranded denim, and naked and famous!

Great vid! Gotta say though raw selvedge can have a lot irregularities removed by the fabric manufacturer like how they singe the denim to remove the hairiness. Fading characteristics are dependant on the brand and the mill they use. Even the initial comfort could vary based on that. Not all selvedge is good and not all non-selvedge is bad (+ can be of higher quality). I like how you promoted washing lol people are nasty and that freezer trick literally does nothing

Josh some video ideas ; Dry cleaning process ; how to choose, what to be careful of, (cleaners are huge aspect in the transition from street to designer) - possible vlog? Great as always 🔥

All great ideas! I’ll draft some things out and see if they if they work! As for vlogs, I am just concerned that it might get boring so I will try to vlog when there’s some sort of event or something interesting happening. Potentially travel vlog if that involves going somewhere pertaining to clothes

are there certain brands I should watch for that are made with this denim? Also any of the color tab of Levis I should watch for? Thanks for the good video.

Nudie, naked and famous, iron heart denim, levis red tabs, levis vintage clothing, levis made and crafted, there are plenty out there! one called "unbranded deinm" is by far the best bang for your buck tho as far as price point

Really love 100% cotton denim. Have yet to purchase a pair of selvedge denim but I have two pairs of Kapital Century Denim in different cuts and man were they insanely hard to just put on the first few times. But they break in so nicely so it is all worth it in my opinion.
@wheres_galdo

Kapital century denim is forreal one of the best pairs out there! The break in process can be quite problematic but you end up with such a comfortable and durable pair of jeans in the end that I agree with you that it’s all worth it. Selvedge will be a similar experience, or maybe a bit longer of a break in process but equally as worth it!

fyi freezing denim mainly best for getting rid of the smell not necessarily the bacteria. so if they end up getting smelly which is probably inevitable for longer wear periods between washes then freezing is still something you might wanna do.

Back at it again with my kind of content 🔥 btw is your selvedge hem altered? it suppose to be chainstitch on it's original form.
@wheres_galdo

This one was my first attempt at hemming so thats why my pair has SUPER uneven stitching LOL. But yeah you are absolutely right having a chain stitched hem is the norm!

Joshua, What are your fav types of denim? Any particular brands? When is one considered a "denim head"? I mean it one doesn't have to own 1,000 pairs, they can actually wear the same pair for a year. Maybe it's just how passionate they are about it. Hope you make more videos about denim, maybe some updates on your fades or new acquisitions. Take care buddy

Just a quick question I ordered a pair of slim salvadge indigo jeans and paid £70 i really love the fit / comfort and weight of materiel as well as the detail / finish and colour is this a good price or am I still being over charged?
@wheres_galdo

I don’t think you are being over charged at all! I think that is quite the deal on a good quality pair of selvedge denim!
