Man this breaks my heart. He was such a pure shooter. He never shot below 38% from the 3pt line. One year he even shot 48% from the 3pt line. If those damn injuries didn't derail his progress, he would totally have been on that list of 3pt shooting kings along with Reggie, Ray, and Steph. Not past them, but a LOOOOOOOT closer towards them on it. A guy with such a shot like him would have thrived so well in today's career. Fucking injuries man.... John Starks is my favorite Knick of all time, but Houston is my favorite shooter of all time on the Knicks.

He’s at least a 25+ PPG scorer in today’s perimeter driven/guard friendly NBA His career high in 3PT attempts per game is 5.5. He’s shooting at least 8 of those per game in today’s NBA. And he can stroke them too at exactly 40%. But he wasn’t just an excellent shooter. He had a near complete offensive game. Athleticism, handles, back to basket, etc. But I will say this he was virtually non existent as a playmaker and even defender. He had a game where he had 37-0-0-0-0 but in todays NBA getting a bucket matters more than any other skill and Houston can absolutely get you buckets.

Sprewell specialized in scoring by layups and dunks. His 3 shooting was secondary and not even average. He attempted some 3s when he needed too. Houston specialized with mid range and 3s. Great 3 shooter and very good or great mid ranger shooter. He made some layups when he needed to and it helped his game. They needed a better PG. Jason Kidd would have been a good fit. His defense, layup % and passing better than Ward's.
