I feel like, I am presenting my very own urban Gardeners' World TV Show, showing you a different type of gardening. Although.. this project really isn't about me. It's about the community and highlighting all of the fantastic work these different communities are doing. I am looking forward to showing you more of the amazing characters I have met along this journey. Thank you for watching, Jason x

So inspiring! I'm currently starting the journey of gardening in our barren courtyard in Berlin. Its already so exciting to see how other neighbors are bringing in pots, plants, stones, soil and other little bits. I also made friends with one neighbour and we are going to visit his friend who works at the botanical Gardens (and can give us unlimited access to the best soil in town 😭) its wonderful how things grow and unfold when you just start small. And gardening really does have the potential to bring communities back together!

I agree 100% How has your garden gone this year? If you haven't already check out the garden tour episode as it shows the whole garden coming at the show. It may give you some tips for next year ❤️

Oh My God! This is so inspiring and motivating Jason! I love this... how you are immersing yourself into the community and engaging with the residents asking what it is that they want to see in their back-spaces. The first group has come such a long way and you can see the passion in their faces as they hope for something even better. The second alley was like: WOW! I love the creativity and ingenuity- taking advantage of the vertical elements!! Let me go and catch Part 1

Thank you sooo much AJ! It's been such an incredible journey. Learning everything about this side of community gardening. Their passion is what is motivating me to get this project right. You can see they have the bare bones, they just need a bit of help to reignite the spirits of the rest of the community that have been turned off by the constant littering. The second alley is simply astounding. So creative! Thank you for watching big bro!! Do they do this kind of gardening over in the states?

@@CloudGardenerUK my pleasure!! Yes they have community gardening over here, both in the organic/ communal sense and also regional/civic... The issue that always comes up is consistency, especially in transient areas.

It's so cool to see the alleyways in Manchester! They were really well kept -- neat as a pin! I also love the recycled/reused design ethos. I've done that a bit in my garden (no toilets or sinks!) in a lot of ways, and it's really inspiring to see what others do. I can't wait to see how this series unfolds!

I am soo glad that you enjoyed this video! It just goes to show, if the alleys are maintained people think twice before fly tipping. I think adding in some upcycled pots are a great way of saving coins and they can make such great features! :)

Saw your alleyway garden yesterday on GardenersWorld. Now wish I had kept the old trampoline. Brilliant!!! Climbers would also love it. Great series by the way👍

This is so cool to see: I live in one of the boroughs of London with a less-funded council on a council-run estate. There are some lovely parts of the estate, and many who have small gardens look after them beautifully, but there are some square beds cut into the pavement/parking area just outside our block, and aside from a rose bush in one, they are pretty much left to the weeds and the council levels them every few months with a strimmer. It's a good site, west-facing and gets direct light for most of the day, so I'd love to use the beds for something, but crippling awkwardness with talking to my neighbours has prevented me from taking any first steps so far 😂. So it's great to hear from some of the community in Manchester, as it's helping me see that perhaps a few of my neighbours won't think I'm mad/some privileged idiot to want to do something about these neglected beds.

That's an interesting perspective. Gardening and beautifying the community is still viewed as a "privileged" activity by many. This is something we have to fight over here in the states.

totally relate to the imposter syndrome feeling & anxiety. I'm in my 40s and retraining to be a gardener. I know I can & will do it, but brain kicks and it's not fun. Thank you for sharing! 🐣
