Pretty cool to do the final assembly with your father. Awesome.

Yeah it was. He said he didn't want to drive it until it's done and he wants to be the first. Hope to finish it this weekend. Want to finish it in time for the local 4th of July parade.

Sweet little tractor, excellent restoration. The one thing that I was really glad to see is you stayed with the generator, I don't like seeing a resto and then an alternator hanging out.

Thanks and I agree. I hate the look of the alternators.

Like the restoration. What size tires did you go with on the back? Are they on 8" rims?
@JPN76

Thanks. I use 11.5 wide tires. I believe the rims were 10 inches but not sure, never measured them but they are what came on this and my parts tractor. I will measure them next time im at the shop. I liked the look or the wider 11.5 tires better than the factory ones. Also mounted the rims so they were offset inward to not have a large gap in between tire and fender. Also takes up less room in the shed

Looks good! Now I see where your axle nut is, Is that the same size as the Bullgear nut? Also, is there a cover to go over the Axle and nut to keep dirt out of there and keep in the threads from being damaged?

It is exactly the same as the bull gear nut. Actually I used bull gear nuts because they were in better shape. No cover for that.

Tell me about your rear wheels. I have a 1938 with the same wheel centers and I have a 1952 with a 5 bolt center hub. are there any new rims available for the old style with the single large nut? your restoration is very impressive. Thank you, Ron

Hey Ron. I lucked out and found a parts tractor I got my rims from but new rims are available. I wonder what makes it 5 bolt vs clamp rims. Both of my 53s are the clamp style but I see the 5 bolt online all the time. Maybe just an option. Here is a link to the clampnstyle rims. They are not cheap. www.steinertractor.com/WHS030-8-x-24-Rear-Rim?mkwid=|pcrid||pkw||pmt||slid||pdv|m|product|WHS030|pgrid||cpgnid|18347629182|ptaid||adtext||&gclid=Cj0KCQjwi46iBhDyARIsAE3nVrY_XgTcXt9hBEwasTXlvT6viO4NIwpn-LQmubqIl8cYwCeedBOdh10aAkoSEALw_wcB

I believe the spec torque for that axle nut is at least 600'lbs. (650'lbs?)
@JPN76

Maybe. Not sure the treads would hold at that torque though. They are pretty fine for that. But I guess if they are built for it it should not be a problem.
