Nice! Two acts I probably would never have clicked. Allison and crew did a fine cover. The harmonies like SG were the star. The country twist fit very well. The family won me over and got my grin on. Again the harmonies with the little girl shined. A good watch. You can play your picks anytime. You always give me a treat. Thanks man.🤠

@@jeffkerr4861 Thank you JK! You know there is some personal connection to this song! I’m glad you enjoyed it. That song is why we should all watch things that we might not otherwise. You might find something surprising!

👍👍Father/Kids held their own going against Allison and Shawn. Good job. The steel guitar gives Allison the win. 🖖❤

What a wonderful way for me to start the few videos I’m late to tonight. As mentioned before Simon and Garfunkel were some of the most listened back too many years ago and living out in nowheres-ville , we (me and my brothers spend many bus rides entertaining the bus driver with our singing. Could probably sing them backwards. Seeing the family singing together put a smile on my face quite good too. However the mild twist to the style by Allison…. I really enjoyed. A little smile a little nostalgic and a little sad at times past with this one. None of that took away from the enjoyment here. Thank you. See you in the next one. Take care. 🙏🙏🙏

Thank you, James! I think you and I understand each because we had brothers (I also had one sister). Also, I too grew up in small towns in the Midwest. I also agree with all the statements.... a little smile, a little nostalgia, and a little sad at times. But S&G has always had a place in my heart and I suppose the always will. One more thing, I too liked the little band of kids that their father had put together! My father could play guitar and my mother and sister could sing but he never encouraged that. Not sure why. Anyway, thank you brother.

To be clear, I love a lap steel guitar --- usually. In you matchup of Together Again, the cover by Vince Gill and Paul Franklin had a pedal steel guitar that somehow missed for me, by my impression it took it to Western Twang. I don't know what that technically means but it's a different tone I guess. Here, it was a winner. I've seen some vids with that family before and they are quite good but the kid on the drums did seem distracted while waiting, as you said. It made me laugh but took away some of the charm.

The pedal steel can be off putting at times. There are songs I like it in and songs I don't. Overall, it definitely is used mostly in country music. The difference in sound between it and a lab steel is in the number of strings and the way it's played. Two useless pieces of information that I will share. One is that Jerry Garcia was quite am accomplished pedal steel player (truthfully, he could play about anything with strings). Two is that the pedal steel was a primary instrument used on Teach your children well by CSNY. I do have to say the pedal steel in together again really worked for me in a very nostalgic way. But that's just me! Thanks Wade
