Still loving the videos. You have so much information and keep it simple. Just what I need 😅.

Glad you get value / keeping it simple is what I try to do / it’s all about getting great veggies without complicating it

I mix my plants up, garlic near potatoes, onions around carrots, etc can help with pests, I also have sage dotted around not because I use it but flea beetles don’t like it and I lost my brassicas to them last year. Also interplanting short growing crops like radishes and lettuce around parsnips so by the time the parsnips need the space I’ll have harvested the others. I’m still very new to this just started last year so I’m sure to make loads of mistakes. But I’m enjoying the experience. I am keeping a journal this year and using it! I forgot last year perhaps because I spent a lot of time just clearing the plot. Photos are great to look back on, when I feel I haven’t got much done I look at the plot when I got it and it’s so much better. X

Greens use mostly nitrogen (N) and fruiting / flowering eg tomato plant, use mostly Phosphorous (P) so swapping them over will help keep some balance...

Having regularly watched Charles Dowding videos my understanding has been that he has not rotated a number of crops for a number of years and not noticed a reduction in crop abundance due to his method of feeding the soil each year with a mulch of organic material. I am a lot more haphazard but don’t really bother rotating crops other than onions, carrots and brassicas due to pest problems, in fact last year I planted potatoes straight after harvesting a crop of potatoes from the same bed and got a really generous harvest…

Yeah, That's what we call the good life has totally misrepresented what Charles Dowding found in his own trials. That's a shame, otherwise a channel with some valuable content.

Sorry I didn’t catch your name, I have raised beds like yours and was wondering if you could please show me how you planted them up? You must have photos of your plants from last year? Thanks for sharing 🙏

It’s Suzy and If you scroll through the videos there’s lots of updates but I did blueberries 🫐 in one and a mixture of fennel; marigolds; carrots 🥕 and radishes in the second one : I have subsequently put asparagus in the second one now and intend to keep it that way / here’s the video about the blueberry one which unfortunately the competition is over to win a raised bed but at least it shows you how I did mine. They are looking great this year so looking forward to some blueberries 🫐 kzitem.info/news/bejne/0o-Ltnl5nJ6idpwsi=3KUPTtaBXD6xnr1y
