I'll keep watching this build, you guys are doing a great job of filming the right bits and having a bit of fun on the way! Takes me back to my first car, a VK exec 202 in silver with a Group A Brock kit. Did extractors, head work etc etc but it made very little power. That single speaker in the dash was a laugh when I found it!

Those standard VKs did the job and could sit on 140k all day no issues, I would loved that original. PS I had a blue VK Brock too as I met Peter Brock as we were one of the few Holden dealers that were no1 in their area, shame to see that VK chopped up

I thought you could only engineer 4 point cages now?
@danielbrealey2924
7 жыл бұрын
Nope. If it was built before Jan '90 then you can engineer a 6 point weld in cage. You can even retain the use of the back seats if you tuck the rear uprights tight into the corners of the roof. The taxi bar and side intrusion bars have to be removable for the street as well. It must also meet standards for clearance to passengers in the cabin AND meet ANDRA specs- it's a difficult job keeping everyone happy. But it can be done.

So if you engineer it as a 2 seater can you have a full roll cage on the street?
@danielbrealey2924
7 жыл бұрын
In this case it'll be illegal to use the back seats. But if you tuck the rear stays tight into the corners of the roof then you can leally retain your seat belts and therefore use the back seat. That's how they get ya, you can keep the seat in place, but have to remove the seat belts when the rear stays are place centrally where a passenger's head would go. People usually remove the seat belts for the engineer's inspection and then refit them
