As a Swedish American living in Sweden, I LOVE this show! I cry every time, grateful for the warmth and love it exudes. I believe that Allt för Sverige shows both Americans and Swedes from their best sides. All the best to you and yours!

Charlotte, it's such a beautiful show! So refreshing when it comes to reality TV. I feel like the producers do an excellent job trying to treat each story with care. And it's so beautifully shot and edited. All the best to you as well. I hope you enjoy the rest of the season!!

I totally agree with you. I think they´re so good at casting lovely, genuine and likeable people! 💖 In every season. In a lot of reality shows they seem to cast the worst people to create and stir up drama and conflicts, which just is annoying, imho. I don´t watch those shows. Watching Allt för Sverige you're rooting for all of them, and you feel sad no matter who is going home, because they are all so nice. It´s just such a wholesome and feelgood show. I love it, my favorite show that I look forward to every season! I wish SVT could sell the old seasons to Netflix or something, so the it could be available for a bigger audience with subtitles. I think a lot of people all over the world would enjoy it because it just makes you smile. And cry. In a good way. Cry-smiling.

@@Asa...S I totally agree. I told one of the executive producers that Allt För Sverige should absolutely be on Netflix. I think people all over the world (even people who are not Swedish or American) would connect and relate to these stories. I don't know that they can because of licensing regulations, but I do wish they could! I would not have done the show if there was drama and conflict. The producers told us, even if they film a big argument - it will never be shown publicly. I really appreciate how they take great care to highlight the best traits of each person. Anders told me, "the real magic is in telling each person's story, because there are 10 great stories here." Everyone involved in production really cares about the show. It is so wholesome and refreshing. I'm glad it makes you cry-smile 😃

And if you are planning to go back with your family, visiting your Swedish relatives :)

I'm glad that you connected with my family story. Let me get back to you on the differences question. I think some of those will be highlighted in episode 4 and I don't want to give any spoilers. 😀 I cannot wait to bring my family back to Sweden. We will be there this summer! May even perform a couple of music shows as well. Very excited!

@@jon_strand Yes, it truly did... my dad became a Jehovah's Witness when I was 8. And I grew up part-time going to his church, "door-knocking"and bible studies. Doing all this so we could spend time together.. and also starting to believe myself. But I became anxious and terrified of the talk of demons and of harmageddon (judgement day) killing everyone that doesnt fully live by gods rules. It didnt feel right. It took so much time and growth to come to terms with the shame of choosing my own path, outside of god. And the sadness / feelings of loss for "losing" my dad to this religion...which he always prioritized above me and my brother. And thinking to this day sometimes..."what if it was all true and I will die in the judgement day". It has left its mark, sadly. But as you also showed in the second episode, it is possible to grow above the bad feelings and memories. Me & dad now have a distant but good relationship where love and care is the focus...not religion. And thats because he also changed his focus. I recognised the mixed feelings in that church in you and Erika (completely understandable though). Im proud of you both for being open to changing your perspective, opening up to healing

I'm born in The Netherlands, my father had been imprisoned in a concentration camp and was later put to work as slave labour in ww2 in Germany, after he was liberated he was sent to Indonesia to fight the "rebels". Somewhere along with his road through life, he turned religious. I was raised Calvinist so I grew up listening to The Pilgrim's Progress of John Bunyan and other authors that were way beyond the comprehension of a small child, I remember sitting in the workshop of the bicycle repairman on a wooden bench for 2-3 hours and listening to a vicar that toll me that we didn't deserve it and that it would be a miracle if God would show us his mercy, Oh man I was so scared so I sat and prayed with all my might that God would reach out and help me. Long story short; He was a very strict religious but also very violent man and my childhood was a nightmare. When I was 15-16 I turned my back to religion and my father and left home the first time we really had a talk was when I was 31-32? After a couple of hours of talking he admitted that the violence might have been a bit too much LOL. For me, it was enough, well it took me another 8-9 years to really forgive him in my heart and then my healing started. I lived in different countries and jobs have had a life that was like the worst roller coaster one can imagine (drugs criminality alcohol prison kids divorce) but I ended up in the north of Sweden (Jokkmokk) and here I found finally the peace I had been looking for all my life.

@@allaboutperspective650 wow this is quite the story. I appreciate you sharing it with me. That is very sad that you were treated that way. No one deserves that. I am well acquainted with Calvinist ideology - I think it is a poisonous and insidious ideology. I am glad you have come to find the peace you have been looking for. For me realizing I needed to forgive was the first step, and now I think it is a process. But as you saw - very freeing. I am very grateful to have had that experience. I truly hope peace continues to flood your soul in ways beyond understanding. I hope you have continued healing. Thank you for being so open here. All the best to you.

This season is one of the best. can understand your feeling when you came to Sweden. For me, it was the same when I went over to the US for the first time in 2013. Went to Minnesota, Michigan and Winsconcin. My grandfather's brother emigrated and settled in Hurley Winsconsin and the feeling of seeing where he moved to and can understand that many Swedes ended up up there in the northern part as nature is very reminiscent of Sweden. was back in 2019 and longs for every day.. Thank you for sharing your behind the scene and your experience. I've watched the show since the start, first season. I enjoy it a lot. The only thing I like at this moment, always whanted, is for Anders Lundin to tell the history of Sweden, the stories of what Sweden is to today a bit different. But other than that, I enjoy the show. (The Swedish Bible belt episode was a bit too religious for me, but ok). Cheers from a Stockholm illustrator, artist.

@@jon_strand Thank you for your concern. Most people don't realize I'm not ethnically Swedish. And even when they see my last name they think it's just my lineage. I love the Swedish classes you guys get. I wish I had something similar :D. Instead I had to learn all of these wonderful and strange things on my own. I had pronunciation classes "instead", which was an incredible boost to me. What is interesting is how much of the "strange behavior" becomes your nature after you live here for a while. There's a few channels I follow with Americans and Britts living in Sweden.
