Gidday mate, it's me again, the Sikaflex commenter. You're doing great with the windows and I feel your pain with the sanding. No, the 10 foot rule won't work because when you are sitting in your cockpit you're not 10 foot away from your dodgy paintjob. A pro spray painter told me once 95% of a good paintjob is the preparation. Painting it is the easy bit. What will speed up your sanding is to remove every screwed on fitting on the boat including those wood rub rails. That will give you more machine sanding less hand sanding. Most of the fittings will need rebedding anyway to stop leaks. Then you can fill all the dings and holes with an easily sanded epoxy fairing filler (see West System epoxy and fairing powders) light sand, then your ready to paint. Have fun.

Your 100% right, for the work that has gone into this boat so far they is not much point in cutting corners, thank you for your advice is very helpful ⛵️🙏🙏

I wanted to say the same thing. Take the fittings off, they will need resealing (been there), then sand, fill, and prime. There's no such thing as a cheap boat. By the time it's done, you'll have at least 100 hours in it. And time is money (and so are all those materials), so you might as well do a proper job.

Finally, more 1 Squid Yacht. 21 Degrees? Nah, too hot, 18 Degrees is perfect, again, the weather is still dodgy, may or may not be sunny or absolutely bucketing it down. I couldn't do half of this, I can build you a TnG wall, but it might not have straight cuts, and wil certainly have half a finger and a gallon of blood everywhere when I drill through my finger.

Please try not to drill through your finger 🤣 that’s definitely something I would do 🙏⛵️⛵️⛵️

The 10ft rule doesn't always work. I wish I'd known about the 10ft rule when I first met my ex-wife. 🤣

If you want see man using a sander on a boat sanding again as per the last 2 videos this is for you the opposite of watching paint dry....but far more boring we don't kneed to see you useing a sander for every bit of gel coat as for your sanding discs try useing the mesh sanding discs won't clog as fast & last ages
