I hate to tell you this - but last week a thief stole my B&W hitch with those exact locks you bought. . .same exact B&W hitch and same 4 Infiniterule locks off my F350. I was out of town on business and they must have taken it off at the hotel - didn't notice it was missing until I got back to Texas. The strange thing is, I can't tell how they got it off . . .there were no hammer marks or any grinder mark visible. I've had that hitch and lock setup for over a year and felt comfortable it was "theft proof". Obviously it was a false sense of security. I ran across your video because I'm online buying a new B&W hitch - and looking for a better lock solution so I don't get ripped off again. This time I'm going with Paclock's UCS-80-250 lock which cost $117 each. I watched a 13 minute video on KZitem detailing this lock and I am convinced if I had this lock I'd still have my B&W hitch. Please watch that video by BosnianBill and tell me what you think before I pull the trigger and buy it. Thanks

JD, you should check out the lock pins that "bulletproof hitches" sells. similar price, but you dont have to screw the key. Only reason i mention that, is because over time, the road grime and any dirt you drive in does make the key hole kinda tight. I would assume that those pins have all stainless steel internals, so i would also recomend putting some graphite powder in the key hole every once in a while.

I've had two locking hitch pins, and they both rusted shut. One of them I got off by spraying with WD-40 and let sit for a couple hours. The other would not take the WD-40, so a crowbar made simple work of getting it off. Lesson here is: WD-40 rocks, and the locking pin will only keep honest people from stealing it.

I bought a Fastway hitch system (2-ball) similar to this. But I didn't need to be taught a lesson. I went ahead and ordered 2 locking pins to secure it to the truck, and to secure the 'riser' system so it couldn't be stolen in-toto........or partially. I like to keep my hitch in the receiver. For one thing, more cushion against rear-end collisions. Which DO happen.

It's awful lucky that the thief didn't run off with all the parts that could be taken with the pins pulled out. It seems that an unscrupulous thief could simply cheaply fabricate the missing piece and re-sell the entire package as an original (with a significant profit); ... that would have been bad.
@JohnDiMartino

Nice hitch it really is but it’s priced beyond what it’s worth once you buy all those locks ,which I may mention they only last a few years here in NY even with the covers salt residue will sneak in from the hitch side and they won’t come off one day you’ll have to cut them off.....simply get the receiver you need and remove it and put under the rear seat when not in use . Im pretty sure a removable hitch is illegal to have in the receiver in NY anyway when not towing . It can’t stick out past the bumper .You can thank insurance company lobbyists for that.

While I understand the appeal and utility of a height-adjustable hitch setup, I do not see much point in "hiding it" by turning it around. With all the god-awful drivers around and those that like to pull right up to your bumper I favor leaving my hitches on my vehicles to keep such invasion of my vehicular-space down to a minumum. I also paint them a nice bright color, like a natural deterrent; this works well in nature and I don't mind duplicating it.

A simple bicycle thief can steal that hitch faster than the person with the keys, I promise! How, A simple spray can of oxygen or nitrogen will freeze each pin and a three pound hammer will (shatter) break off the keyed end right at the bottom threads or theads at the shoulder & couldn't tell in video but, if Infinite Rule left a square bottom corner at shoulder like opposite end instead of a fillet it will break easier. Sorry JD, ....Save your money, and JUST STORE IN CAB OR TOOL BOX OUT OF SIGHT AND USE STANDARD FACTORY PINS when towing is necessary. My son-in-law has a B&W also, and I realize theirs a since of pride of owning a B&W and a need to show it off like in the day of only single cab trucks with our RIFLES hanging in rear windshield. .....even when we where parked at high school. $300.00+ hitch and $160.00 in locks...that is an expensive hitch system. Seems like a bigger pain to unlock all the bolts to access the hitch to use it. Those pins defeat the whole convenience of the hitch. For the time and effort it takes to change the setup with those screw on pins, I could change ball mounts and balls. And for ~$500 I could buy all the mounts and balls I'd likely ever have to use and then some. The only lacking difference is bling appeal. People aren't as impressed by your wealth when you have a plain old regular ball mount on your hitch.

Not with these pins. They will just bend but not snap, plus they take about 4x the force to even bend.

@@BigTruckBigRV work it up and down a few times and it snapped off......good job because it was on my front receiver and wasn't going to reverse all the way home

I went ahead and ordered the set for my Gen Y hitch. Several guys noticed my hitch and made comments how nice it was. Thought I would try the set out.

No thanks 160 bucks for just straight pens that lock now that’s way overpriced I have a lockable box on my trailer and my hitch will go inside that lock and secure every time you unhook from the hitch that’s just wasted money in my opinion but you do as you do your truck your money your trailer

That is exactly what I was thinking it can be so easily stolen, but with that kit will be harder. I was like why can’t no one make one with locks instead of pins. Pins make me feel so unsafe especially with all that weight in the back. I know they are the pros in the business they went to design class, but we are the ones in the field towing everything from left to right. Now I might consider bw with locked pins.

Cheap fix! Weld some 1.5-2 tubing around where the pin goes so thieves can’t break off the locking pin.

All in all you got like 500 bucks,in the hitches and pins. For that price you could buy like 20 or 30 regular hitches and hide a few under the seat. Plus your hitch looks goofy

You stated your hitch system was rated for 21 thousand pounds ! What are the new locking pins rated for ??? Most after market parts pins are usually only 10 thousand or 5 k pounds.

I think B&W makes some veeeery nice stuff, but I've never particularly cared for the multiple pin system on the tow n stow. I think being able to flip it up under the truck is pretty cool but personally I would rather keep an expensive hitch like that under the back seat of my truck or in a tool box vs leaving it out in the elements for possible rust and corrosion. Still, I think the keyed alike pins are an excellent solution if you're going to keep the hitch in the receiver. Looking forward to more BTBRV videos.

Small drawstring bag & stow the hitch under the rear seat in the long term more practicul to use, cheaper and most important peace of mind. Thats an OTT mod thats just not needed. Working on an everyday basis it would be less hassle to hitch up.

The keys look kinda flimsy for being such that you have to twist them on an off it seems like after a while, road grime and stuff would cause you to have to use an amount of force to twist the key off

locking hitch pins are a joke, over the years several times I have lost the keys or friends did not have the key for their locking hitch pins and one quick hit with a hammer and they all pop off! Granted the thief needs a tool and can' just walk by and decide he wants your hitch but they are far from a secure system.

I would suggest to put grease or something with some lock ease. Especially for people that live in the north east part of the country..or anywhere else there is salt . Sorry for your loss, I cant stand people who steal for a living. Stop being a low life, get up off your ass and work for your stuff instead of stealing it..great videos man .

Why not just take the hitch off when you're not using it? Seems like less of a hassle to just remove 1 pin and toss the whole hitch in your tool box or back seat rather than messing with all those pins. You're not supposed to drive with a hitch on the back when you're not using it anyway.

Is your truck lifted? Or do you find you need the 6" drop for the standard receiver height ? I thought the 2.5" drop was more common

Wait until the internals of those locks rust and corrode.... been there, done that, doesn’t matter how much you lube them it will eventually happen and that’s why damn few companies make them.
