I tend to like rip stop nylon bags, especially if it offers lighter weight option. This one is different then what I’ve seen on any other bag, but I like it.

I just ordered a 500D version. I was going back and forth between it and the ripstop you got. I’m excited to try it, my other options were the synapse 25 and greenroom 136 rainmaker. I collect patches so a Velcro field was a bonus. And I like the integrated laptop compartment on this backpack. Side note, you kinda sound like John Mulaney. I can imagine you doing some of his bits Loved the video!

Hello andy, what do you think about the alpha one niner and the goruck GR1 26. Which is best for edc in your opinion? And which is more beautiful and stylish?Good video man:)
@AndyModellBackpacks
3 жыл бұрын
Regarding style, I’d say that they both have very different styles. The Goruck has the PALS webbing on the outside which definitely screams TactiCool. The Evade 1.5 is much more along the lines of a traditional backpack style. For EDC, I prefer the Evade 1.5 because I like the additional pockets, water bottle pockets, and organization, though it is a deeper bag. If I were traveling, I’d be able to put a gr1 under the seat in front of me with no problem, but the Evade 1.5 might be too big for that.

Nice review, I have one question is everything accessible when you pack out the main compartment? I love my GR1 but when it’s packed out the slant pocket is difficult to use.
@AndyModellBackpacks

This bag definitely doesn’t suffer from that problem. The front and back pockets have their own volume, and the quick access has clearly defined space in the front pocket for where it goes.

I know you haven't made a review for the pathfinder but can you just tell me which you prefer? They're both heavy but one has different organization and xpac. So I want to hear from you if it's worth upgrading to Pathfinder even though they're different.
@AndyModellBackpacks
3 жыл бұрын
I do like them both. The pathfinder reminds me a bit more of a Tom Bihn Synapse than the Evade 1.5 because of those side pockets, and I like being able to access everything I need at the office from the laptop compartment of the Pathfinder, while the evade 1.5 reminds me more of a CPL24 / Goruck style bag to me.

@@AndyModellBackpacks you may not feel comfortable answering this but if so, may I ask what you do for a living? I'm not being nosey, as I stated in another reply, you remind me of my son. He does not have any idea what he'd like to do. Whenever I see someone that reminds me of him I always ask them just out of curiosity and I pass along to him for him to ponder on. You never know it may be something one day that perks an interest in him so I ask when I can. Thank you. BTW, I ordered the Patagonia you referenced:) Many coming in in the next few days for him to check :) Thank you again for all of your help! Tempted to order the Alpha 1 but without free shipping I am not sure I will plus, the messages I have had with them have been sort of un-accomodating unlike the others. Sorry to hear that Alpha One Niner wasn't helpful with you. I've had great communications with them, but it is mostly one guy, so I can imagine if he gets pretty busy. I'm a software engineer professionally. Regardless of whether your son is planning on majoring in engineering or CS at all, I recommend everybody take an intro programming class since it exposes people to another way of approaching problems and can be useful across all disciplines.
