@ Interview 1/2: ALS!? To be honest, as a patient you perceive this diagnosis as a death sentence. Impressed and unsettled by what you hear and read about it, and even more so by what you observe in your own body, you tend to give up. For the first few years I actually thought that every day could be the last. BUT - it doesn't have to be that way! With the right attitude, with a supportive environment and with a bit of luck, things can turn out differently. The first part of the interview is not just about the time after the diagnosis. It is also about taking the first steps towards long-term care. You could put it pointedly like this: "If I can't walk anymore, I have to take one step at a time!"
I wish all those affected and their families a lot of courage, strength and inner peace!
With kind and compassionate greetings, Georg Berger
Hello, I'm Georg!
I have been living with the incurable neurological disease ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) since 2017.
After 7 challenging years, I am ready to speak openly about my experiences. Everyone will understand that it is not just medical issues that play a role. The will to live, mental strength and an environment characterized by Christian love cannot be obtained on prescription. That is why my podcast is also dedicated to spiritual aspects of a life-changing diagnosis.
Thank you very much for your interest, Georg
