Yes, you did help somebody. I ordered the same grips for my Ft. Smith last night knowing I'd need to fit them. Thanks for showing me what I'm in for. It will make things a lot easier since you solved my mystery, KUDOS!

@@southerncrossvids I have a SW model and it still required sanding.

Too bad you did not reinsert the magazine. I have read many complaints of magazine interference with ppk aftermarket grips. That said, this vid is a godsend for all of us with Arkansas ppk Waithers wondering if we can buy aftermarket grips. You and Altamont are like the only ones that really address this mess of German ppk, S&W ppk,Interarms ppk, Arkansas ppk,French ppk ,one piece grips, two piece wrap around grips, and then throw in the ppk/s for added confusion. EXCELLENT JOB and THANK YOU !

Thank you for the comments. In actuality there was, in fact, some minimal sanding required upon the first live fire testing, nothing major but a little more effort. Cheers!

Nicely done. I have several pistols with Altamont grips and each set fit perfectly on the firearm. My problem now is I have a Walther PPK/S chambered in .22 lr and it’s almost impossible to find wood grips with the quality of Altamont. The grip handle is different than other PPK’s and a standard set of PPKS grips won’t fit. I’ll keep looking as I really dislike the plastic grips that are on it now. Good video.

Thank you for the comments. Altamonte is a great company. I actually had to go back and work on those grips a bit more. Test firing at the range led to consistent misfires, weak hammer strikes. I have lost some confidence in carrying the gun as a result, as it would fire several mags, then suddenly it would happen again. For now I've got the factory grips back on. Altamonte states that they have heard of this happening and advised that that would soon be manufacturing grips to actually fit the Ft Smith PPK.

Did they give you any indication on whether they will be producing grips for the Arkansas 22 lr. Seems to be a popular pistol and I doubt they have any problem marketing them

@@Rick-jq8ng no indication. I agree that the Walther PPKS 22 I a very popular firearm, and don’t know why Altamont won’t produce grips for them. Maybe it’s an Altamont problem. They had photos of an absolutely beautiful set of 1911 grips that had an eagle engraved on them. I’ve been waiting for almost 2 years for Altamont to offer them. No luck.

Altamont does make some lovely grips for the PPK/S, the ones you purchased are different from mine. My PPK/S is a S&W Stainless but there’s a new Blue PPK on my wish list, keeping your video in mind 😉

Thanks for the view and comment! The interesting thing about the PPK is that it's actually all stainless steel with a black coating, very durable. Since making this video I've had an issue with the grips and have had to return them , a slight manufacturing defect came to light after a short time. They are being re-made at this time. Cheers bud.

Thank you for posting this excellent video. I also have a Ft. Smith PPK/S and want to add these same grips to address the sharp edge on the handgrip frame since it appears these grips encompass the rear of the handgrip. Could you please confirm which model grip is displayed in the video, and whether it is posted under the S&W Version or Arkansas Version on their web site? Thanks again Steve

Hey Steve... thanks for the view and comment. I'm not sure about the PPK/S. The grips I bought on their website can be found by navigating Walther-PPK- the first grip displayed is the Super Walnut checkered panel. They are actually made for the S&W models but they do state that they will fit the Ft Smith model ...with a little modification. Good luck! Call them , they are very helpful and can answer your specific question. Cheers bud.

I'm not sure these grips will fit the PPKs. Your best bet would be to call Altamont, they will answer all your questions, great customer service.
