.325 is great on short bars but wont clear chips on anything over 20 inches long, it only comes on small saws that have 20 inch bars max. I wouldnt recommend it over 3/8 on a 60+cc saw as it'll be slower if you cut up 20 plus inch wood. The narrow cutters also dull quicker. All chains cut pretty much the same for me after the first time I sharpen them, some are better than out of the box, some are not. Husky came out with C85 because having the fastest out of the box chain helps sell chains, no one seams to care that it's just like every other 3/8 chain once you sharpen it. I buy holtzforma chain, it's pretty good and dirt cheap but not as fast as stihl or husky chain out of the box.

Yes agree narrow kerf chains no bigger than 20 inch. There is also that marketing hype also. I do find hexagonal chainsaw be it Hexa or the V cut I used to grind work better than standard full chisel. I brought the 500i and have yet to put a. It bar in it. It's got a 20 inch bar and cuts so well. 20 inch bar is a great size for firewood collection. I was disappointed with husqvarna as a company to sell X-Cut with 40° angle on the cutting point ( top plate cutting angle ) and then say just use a round file 7/32 after. You get 1 go at using the chain with the sharp side plate point. For me it's easy to reprofile the grinding wheel to any shape. But not so easy for others. At least Stihl made the hexa shape can supply you with a file and a grinding wheel to match

I suppose I should try Hexa one day. It'll only be good in clean green timber but I'll give it a go just so I can say I have done it. The Stihl shops are pushing Hexa but I am yet to find anyone in the forestry/training space using Hexa.

But remember Australia is such a small population compared to Europe and America. I can guarantee you Hexa is better than X-Cut. HUSQVARNA sell X-Cut with slight hexagonal shape mainly the top plate cutting angle being 40° for 1.5mm, the rest is the c shape. X-Cut work well. But there is no provision to sharpen it and keep the same profile. Husqvarna shows 7/32 file as the sharpening method. Why would you profile the tooth differently than round ground. At least with hexa you can get a hexagonal file. For me it's easy to reprofile any shape. But many people will find to reprofile the tooth a difficult task and avoid that. For me it's so simple.

@adelarsen9776 so what chain do you use mostly and what brand and why
Hexa stays sharp longer than normal full chisel that's sharpened with a round file. If you look very closely at hexa you will see the 60 degree cutting edge, the edge on a round filed chain is much thinner because the round file under cuts it and dulls quicker. It's not popular because it's very expensive and only 10% faster/better than round filed chain.
