There have been some comments regarding the batteries output, so I just wanted to clarify: The battery is rated at 5v 2amps, and although this won't hold the Quest 3 at 100% it will slow down how fast the Quest 3 drains. For me, it has extended the 2 or so hours up to around 5 hours with the Quest 3. To maintain the charge at 100% (if that's what you want) then ANNAPRO have confirmed they have a 15w (5v/3A) version, and are planning an even higher wattage version with 20/25 watts output. Hope this helps 👍

Hi Day Dreamer, thanks for your authenticity review on our product. We currently have two capacity versions of the Quest 3 Battery Head Strap available for sale, the first version's output wattage is 10W (5V/2A), and the second version is 15W (5V/3A). Also, we are planning to release the third version of 20W or even 25W over the next few weeks. Stay tuned :)

Hi @@ANNAPRO_US Is the 15W version powerful enough to keep the quest from discharging / will it load while being used? Wouldn't higher currents possibly cause heat problems at the connector port?
@ANNAPRO_US
11 ай бұрын
@@ZeeZour Hi, generally, a 15W charger should be powerful enough to keep the Quest from discharging while it is being used, but this will depend on the specific application. For example, if you are playing a demanding game, the Quest may consume more power than the charger can provide, and the battery may slowly discharge. However, for less demanding applications, such as watching videos or browsing the web, the Quest should be able to maintain a charge even while using a 15W charger. A higher current charger can potentially cause heat problems at the connector port, but this is unlikely to be a major issue with a 15W charger. The Quest is designed to dissipate heat effectively, and the connector port is rated for a higher current than 15W. Additionally, the Quest will automatically throttle its performance if it starts to overheat, which will help to prevent damage. Overall, a 15W charger is a good option for the Quest. It is powerful enough to keep the Quest from discharging while it is being used for most applications. And 18W/20W/25W chargers are likely the ultimate solution for keeping the Quest 3 charged, regardless of the application you are using.

@@ANNAPRO_USbased on my tests, it really needs at least 18W to keep up with Quest 3 battery charge. So, anything under 18W is kinda useless (for me, at least). Hope to see a 18-20W version soon.

Thanks for sharing your first impressions on this strap. However, you need to understand battery specs a little better imho. Batteries get rated at different voltage outputs so simply comparing them at their mahr rating isn't very useful. In order to maintain the Q3 headset battery at 100% during use, the batteries need to be able to output at least 9v/2.5-3a. This requires much higher rated 22.5-30w packs. The cheap battery on this strap is clearly not rated high enough. There are lots of suppliers putting out cheap batteries that they say are 18w. While 18w may be enough to charge the Q3 (which comes with a 18w charger), it's not enough to maintain the charge on the headset battery and they are unlikely to give the additional runtimes expected based on their stated mahr ratings. Maybe not as important, but I've found that straps like this with mid-point hinges do not transfer the weight of the rear battery as well as one-piece ones, like the Elite straps. These then do not help take as much weight off my face. This gets worse as the hinge point loosen up over time. Overall, I would not recommend this battery strap. I do recommend the Elite Battery strap (fortunately I got a good one) because it is properly spec'd for the Q3 and has no problem maintaining the headset battery at 100%. I've had mine for 11 days now and it's working great. Also, obviously much more comfortable than the stock strap. Now that I have it dialed in it's as comfortable as my QPro with GC top strap/front pad mod. Also, if I need more than 3-3.5 hours runtime I can simply connect one of my Romoss 10000mahr 30w packs (bought 2x from Amazon earlier this year) using its 9v/3a port (type-c) connected to the Elite battery usb-c port. BTW, those packs will not only maintain the headset battery at 100% when connected directly, they will also maintain the strap battery at 100% when connected to it. Sooooo, buyers beware, lol!

Thanks for the comment, and it's exactly why I put the text in saying it wouldn't hold it at 100%. It does however slow down the speed the Quest 3 battery drains at. So I guess it depends on whether people prefer the Quest 3 to stay at 100% or not 👍

Will it degrade the elite strap battery by using the 10,000 mah battery plugged in while the elite strap battery is trying to charge the quest 3 at the same time? I also have a 10,000 mah battery that is 30w and want to use it but not sure if I can use it at the same time, Or do I need to unplug elite strap battery from quest 3 and charge elite strap from external battery in my pocket? Was hoping I can just have them all plugged into each other and going so I don't have to stop halfway through a game.

it dose not matter how big the battery of the strap is. what matters is if its high enough voltage to power the Quest 3. it needs to be minimum of 2amp 9v = 18Watt. otherwise the quest main battery will drain and the headset will power off!
