It's taken me a while to get around to reviewing an Altra shoe, but I'm very glad I finally did. In many ways, it was not what I was expecting at all, and I was continually surprised at just how good of a daily trainer this shoe was. First, I will point out that it's not a minimalist shoe. There's 24mm of stack height throughout the shoe. And it's a very good midsole material.
The main thing I was concerned about was the transition to zero drop. But, in my personal experience, I didn't have any issue with it at all. My body really notices the difference in the first half mile or so of the run, but after that, while it does feel different than a 10mm drop shoe, it's not an issue.
Disclosures: this is a pair of shoes I purchased with my own money. No one has paid me to make this video or reimburse me. No one will have a chance to preview my footage or thoughts before this video goes up on youtube.
