I have had the exact same box and parts for six weeks, but they are not installed yet. The lowering link and kickstand have only been available since the last week of November. My Tuareg is in winter sleep right now in an unheated garage (in Upstate New York), so I've postponed the install for a few months. It will be interesting to see how it goes for you before I do the same. Another AltRider accessory I plan to add is the footpegs. I'm a competent motorhead, but I am also an architect and I appreciate the thoughtful design of AltRider components. The designs are robust and the fit and finish is second to none. The AltRider "clutch arm extension" does reduce the weight of the clutch pull; but the other big gain is to increase the amount of travel of the clutch Lever, between the clutch being fully engaged and fully disengaged. This resuts in finer clutch control and easier clutch engagement modulation when riding offroad. It won't matter so much on the street, but it will be a big help in the dirt. The AltRider clutch arm extension has two locating holes for the clutch cable - the AltRider extended locating hole, and a second locating hole in the original non-extended location. The clutch arm can be changed from 'extended' to OEM, or visa versa, in about a minute. I have only ever talked with Lynell (sp?) at AltRider on the phone few times. She is knowledgable and patient when answering questions about their products. Very pleasant, easy to do business with, and rightfully proud of their products and business model.

Fitted Altrider link. a) Linkage guard pushes hole out of alignment with suspension unloaded. Need 3 hands to juggle bolt, link & wheel. b) Breaking fork stanchions free to slide up required a protected wedge & WD40 lubrication. c) Lower of the 2 top yoke setscrews are behind plastic so cant get a straight line onto to torque (put torque marks on prior to loosening & tightened back to mark with allen key on reassembly. Used 32mm lower position on link & slide stanchion up a further 15mm from original 5mm line, With that & rear suspension preload wound all the way out bike sits much more upright on side stand. Much easier to heave off side stand now. (Altrider height adjustable side stand not required unless you raise bikes seat height)

Before offering Altrider stand to bike try the Pivot Pin thru, that's the stepped bolt but Aprilia call it a Pin (Part No 2B009400) Mine wont go thru, suspect its the surface finish on the Altrider stand reducing hole clearance on pin. But it could be misalignment if hole has been bored from one side & thread tapped from other! Hole in Altrider stand may ream or Dremel to enlarge but this should be unnecessary with a new component. Emailed supplier Altrider Europe in Holland but they have not responded! Altrider Torque figures are higher than Aprilia's Altrider Pivot Pin & retaining Nut 25Nm Aprilia Pivot Pin 13Nm & Retaining Nut 25Nm (from Aprilia workshop manual) I found Pivot Pin !0Nm & retaining Nut 20Nm Arrived at by torque marking fasteners undoing then retightening increasing torque wrench setting in increments till markers lined up again.

Please do install of Adjustable height link & side stand, mine should be here Monday 8th January. Trust you wont be giving anymore business to that dealership that didnt tighten your oil filter up to the correct torque of 15Nm, they obviously re-fitted sump guard without starting bike to check for leaks, makes you wonder what else they didnt do correctly?

That's awesome Brie! We leave Monday to ride The P.H.A.T. So we won't get the video done until the following week. But we'll prioritize that one for you when we get back. 😁

Hi, in your discussions with them, did they mention when the new skid plate for the Aprilia 660 would be available? I need to get one, and i still haven't made up my mind on which one i want to get. Thanks!

That's a great question! I would just give them a call. They are super helpful and get items shipped out ASAP. Examining the quality of these items I got, and knowing how rigourously they test their products, I would totally feel comfortable going with their skid plate!

I can confirm we're working on a skid plate for the Tuareg, but as of the beginning of 2024 we don't yet have a release date. We may not be the first to market, but we work hard to make great products.

I was very impressed with the Altrider engine guards, I made an ordering mistake and their customer service was top notch! The way I look at it the motorcycles we buy are expensive, protect you investment!
