If you are only a little bit short on Copper, you could use alt recipes for Pure Copper Ingot with some of the byproduct water, or Copper Alloy ingot with some of the nearby Iron

but does he have those alternates recopies unlocked? They are much better and more efficient, but he might not have them unlocked. Also there's limestone in the area of his factory that he could use to make Cheap Silica in assemblers.

Tip on the water extractors. You really only need to start with the amount you will need at the end. You don't need to prime this system because the output of the water from the aluminum processing will quickly full up the pipes. The tricky part will be keeping it from getting backed up. I'll leave that for you to figure out on your own.
@Timelog88

Just another tip on the pipes. There is a big where full 600 pipe don't work on full capacity in certain cases, so you might want to make sure you read the current issues on the wiki pipeline page.

One way to use some of the iron is to use the foundry alternative recipe for copper ingots using copper ore and iron ore. It doubles your copper ingot output for only a quarter of extra iron input.

One way to distinguish splitters and mergers is to look for the painted side of the module. Paint = input, bare metal = output. As I was typing this comment I realized that it was during the placement of the blueprint you had a hard time seeing which side was which, and the beam solves that, but I decided to post it anyway as it might be of help to someone.

If there is Aluminium in this game then there is probably Titanium, and if Aluminium is that complex, imagine how complex Titanium is gonna be cause it seems like a high tier resource.

the issue your were talking about around 31:00 with the 2nd cargostation receiving less ore is solved by merging 1 output of the first and 1 output of the second cargostation towards 1 floor and do the same for the second floor instead of having dedicated cargostations for each floor. that way it will always unload in a balanced fashion.
@Sephyricon

Good idea. You can also make two unequal inputs to two equal outputs just by feeding it through an industrial storage.

The blueprints are really cool, but I'll be overjoyed if they do ghost image that you can place a blueprint, and move it if you need to before actually building it. Sucks if you place it wrong then have to delete each item before you can move it. First world problem for sure. Really great build and video.

If you really want to keep your copper smelting lines balanced, rather than underclocking one to 66% on one side and switching off one on the other, you really could set 2 smelters to 33%. That will keep each side consuming the same amount of ore, and I don't think the power consumption really is all that different.

The best thing to do for train stations is going an extra foundation or two spacing and put in a large container and hook both belts up so the station unloads/loads twice as quick and have a single belt leading in or out of the container as a buffer so the lines don't have a dead spot
@Solidm4tter

With the copper smelters you might consider doing 2 smelters at 50% instead of 1 at 66% and one off. That’ll keep your output lines balanced? Probably save future headaches.

You’re aluminum build is shaping up to be so yuuuge. It reminds me of your motor factory build, delightfully sprawling and irregular. Are you going to tap any other limestone deposits? Just to have other places on the map to grab some concrete.

So that one splitter you're staring at, for the third of four inputs on the copper, where you say something like "there needs to be some sort of merging process here"? You can just... make that a merger rather than a splitter, right?
@WhatDarrenPlays

Kind of, it needed a merger inbetween the 2nd and 3rd splitter. I was trying to think about how empty or full the belt would be after passing 16 smelters

Belt can't made her full throughput with train. Train station stop feeding or accepting items when they load/un loader the train and so messing with the belt maximum. Exact speed will depend on how frequent the train stop.

Why overengineer water production? You could just use Big Fluid buffers to store enough water to get it going and then use the water from the process? Love your vids
@Ensivion
Жыл бұрын
I know it's late but how are you going to deal with the water byproduct? you can't flush it automatically, you have to recycle it, which means you don't need nearly as many water extractors. I think the way you're going to recycle it is using valves to limit the amount of water from extractors.
