Brutal job by the installers, but great video calling them on the carpet.

Thanks, hopefully this video will help potential motor buyers be more aware of things to look out for and hopefully have a better experience than we had.

Awesome job on the rebuild guys! I do have a question if I may, at the transome area of the hull, was there bad pitting? I thought I saw that a few bad spots... If so how did you go about fixing them? As far as motor install goes, you really need to go back to them and tell that you want a free kicker motor or going to attached their name to this video for the crap service they put out.... That being said, great job you guys and enjoy your times on the water!

Thank you! I really appreciate your comment, and you have amazing attention to detail! For the pitting, after we cleaned the area and sanded it, we applied TotalBoat 2 part epoxy barrier which filled in and sealed all of the pits. We inspected it after sealing and didn't have any concerns as the strength mostly comes from the transom board itself. If the pitting was in worse condition, we most likely would have drilled a hole through the hull and transom, then add a bolt, washer, and marine caulk to seal the hole. Another option that would work would be to use a marine putty to fill the area then sand flat, thankfully that wasn't needed! Here is a link to the TotalBoat epoxy barrier : a.co/d/8dmDS6h Here is a link for the two-part marine epoxy paste that we have used on other projects: a.co/d/fULasNF Thanks for watching!

@@nanookoutdoors5171 I'm in the process of restoring a 1988 Smokercraft Fazor 170. And unfortunately when I got to started digging into it the transome was shot to the point that I had to reskin it! Cost and labor was more than hull was worth in my opinion. But, I loved the little thing and when forth away and couldn't be happier that I did... Again, great job ya all! Also thanks for info and reply.

I seen your vedios. I would not install fuel water swperator. Most outboard. Fuel pump can not pump up the fuel

Wow Krazy All the DIY stuff done on your part was better put together than ppl that do this boat work for a living. At this point I would only asked them to Mount the Engine and do the rest of the work yourself if there wasn't some warranty issue with doing the install yourself. How kan they over charge you on a quote without asking you to approve the kost over run. Not sure how they kan half azz a job when that's their only fkn job is to put in a boat motor it's not like you are asking a veterinarian to put in a boat motor, on top of that it's an outboard motor not even an inboard or an Electrik Drive.😵💫 I've heard this thing going around about paying ppl for their expertise to get something done in three ways and you kan only have two of the 3 ....... The thing is Kompletely wrong about that saying is i'm not paying you to do remedial work a trained monkey kould do, I'm paying you for the komplex part of the job the "shop rate" of 80$-150$ ...... I should not have to pay shop rate on an oil change that requires a 1st Grade Edukation. 🤣

I’m coming to terms with this after pandemic workforce now is garbage. Cook my own food and work on my own stuff. It will definitely take me longer, but at least it will be exactly how I want it. You guys didn’t deserve that and should put their name/names out.
