Very, very interesting and no money return to your efforts, But these experiences shared have more value than money. Thousand thanks.

Fascinating series. THANK YOU. Not only is the anchor comparisons educational but the method of video is very interesting. This gives me a sense of security that my delta type anchor is the right one for me on the bottoms that my boat is over. I always wondered what was going on down there.

Thank you for all your efforts. the Aluminum Sarca is very impressive for a light weight anchor it would make a great general purpose anchor with possibly something heavier as a back you storm anchor hidden in the bilges. from you testing I would say take care setting and no issues. your reversal 3.5 knts is a brutal test and its not surprising how many anchors failours you see with that. I can't imagine many situations where that would occur and if it did you probably should be anchored there. thank you again. tremendous efforts. warren

It would be great to see test results for an aluminium spade anchor. Thanks for the great anchor tests

Another great one! I think I would have the alum. one because if anchor winch quit would be easer to pull up by hand. Have you thought about going on patron ? some are making a thousand dollars a video and yours are very good and you learn things!

I really appreciate all your efforts to explore the performance of various anchors and share your findings. In this case, how do you think the comparison between steel and aluminum anchors would fare if you used anchors of the same weight (instead of the same size)? Seems like the holding of the larger aluminum anchor would be superior but I don't know if the setting performance would be any better

That is a good question and one that really needs to be answered by testing. We can assume holding power will be better with the larger anchor but setting ability is harder to predict. On the one hand, a more dense anchor should penetrate better. On the other hand, larger anchors generally set more reliably than smaller ones.

Find your videos very informative, but i do wonder about something and that is , people say to hook the chain at the other end and use wire ties at the top of the shank . The purpose for that is if your anchor stuck you can pull on it and break the wiretie reversing the anchor for a release . You have done more anchoring then anybody i know , so whats your opinion ? Good idea or not. ?

The wire tie could be prematurely broken during a wind shift or other dynamic event. I would only use this technique when in a situation where dragging anchor is not critical, such as when fishing.

Rhythmic jerking: all chain, right? What if you added a snubber?
@flygoodwin

Yes, all chain. I do use a heavy nylon snubber of about 10 feet to save the paint on the test boat's bow. It likely does not provide much stretch, however. I have done "high speed" reset testing with rope rodes. I have found that sometimes the rode stretches considerably prior to the anchor releasing. When it does release, the anchor accelerates violently has the "rubber band" effect of the rope relaxes. It is not clear to me which rode type presents a more difficult (for the anchor) scenario.
