Someone posted a photo of Dyserth Waterfall on Instagram and seeing as I was already in Llandudno (guilt tripped into taking kiddos to Smyths Toys!) I popped over to Dyserth to see them for myself.
The waterfall is approx 70 foot high and is really quite lovely. Next to it are two high walls which I thought must've housed a water wheel at one point. I haven't done any research as yet but I am aware there were mines and mills in the area so it would make sense.
There's a footpath leading uphill from the waterfall which takes you to a lovely little clearing. There's a bridge which crosses the Afon Ffyddion and space for kids to run around. What I found interesting is the two "gravestones" with the word Windsor etched into them. Upon a quick Google I found that they are in fact boundary markers it seems.
A little further upstream there's a few caves. They had been blocked off with corrugated sheets but they've been removed. I wouldn't dare venture into any of them - the smell was rather dodgy!
At the end of the walk we made out way over to the New Inn for a quick drink and pudding. Lovely little afternoon it was.
