@@ScrapMan69 get stripping, buddy. Winter is almost here! LoL You're right that everyone is different and we all do what we like to do. That's what is great. We get to see all kinds of ways to do things. Thank you, my friend

This runs through my head every time I strip wire but I just keep strippin lol but the numbers don’t lie most cases we are losing money doing it. Ahh ScrapLife ♻️😅

Good video. I think it depends on if you take in account your time or not.
@HHRecycling
Ай бұрын
@@ScorpionMetals No, if I took that into account, I would lose a lot. I get paid an extra one cent if I strip it totally down to copper. I could completely do it in 5 minutes probably, so I can expect to make 12 to 15 cents an hour if I do a bunch at once. That's at my prices.

Great. Kyle at my yard says it's not worth it to process romex but I can never stop pulling out the ground wire it's just too easy. That would be great if you could get a 30 yard bin and just pack it to the tits with shred and then every 4th load fill it with hms and heavy cast. Canadian treasure hunter would approve!
@HHRecycling
Ай бұрын
@@Nas_Atlas yeah, that would be ideal. I would probably like to get 3 bins at some point, but it will be probably$1200 to get them hauled out here. If I get one it would be closer to $500 I think.

That is interesting. I'm lucky i can tell the difference between red, and yellow brass . Is there anything in a microwave worth recycling ? They charge $ 15 in the States to take one. Thanks.
@HHRecycling
Ай бұрын
@@brycewiborg8095 That's a good skill. Microwaves are 100% scrappable. There's a bunch of insulated copper wire, awesome magnets and possibly a couple pounds of #2 copper if it's not an aluminum transformer. I'll try to find a video and link it here.

I like the brass plate. It may be red brass !! Romex isn't worth stripping because you lose the weight of the coating. I've always stripped it. To each their own I guess!!
@HHRecycling
Ай бұрын
@@scrappingonthefly77 yeah, it's pretty cool. I think it's yellow brass, but the rust makes it look red. Yeah, everyone will do what they like doing. I will keep the loose stuff in case I ever want to strip it but the tight stuff can be sold.

This is a buy product of this business and that's light iron so what I would do is take the bare wire and store them it seems that you can get a very good price for the 80 percent then just straight romax thank you for sharing this with us six stars brother
@HHRecycling

@josephcormier5974 That's my thoughts. It's super easy to rip the ground out and then you are actually getting ahead. I can still hang onto the 80% in case things change and I need some melting copper. Thanks, Joe. I hope your summer is going well. It's probably pretty humid, I am guessing.

Yeah, like I said, I will probably strip the easy stuff to melt, but I'm not bothering with the twisted up stuff. I still get lots of fun stripping the worthwhile cables, too, so don't feel bad for me. 😂
