I do agree with you on most of these things. Nothing compares to London. I went several times, and I’m always in awe of the atmosphere there. Paris is pretty, but that’s pretty much it. It’s overrated (I’m French btw). Also, I’ve lived in Cardiff and went to a lot of places in the UK, and the general feeling of security is out of this world compared to France. So, UK all the way! As an arab who wears hijab i have been to England and Germany. And i can 100% tell you that when i was served in either countries i always got very bad service, and i speak fluent english so i didn’t have trouble communicating in England. I remember we were at a very popular and fancy restaurant in London and we asked for the bill, we payed the amount written in the bill. The server started complaining and practically yelling at us for not tipping him, but we didnt know that that was the system/norm in England cause in my country the servers’ tip is automatically calculated 15% of the amount of each bill we don’t write it down as you do in England. Will it stop me from visiting Europe? No because i know damn well that i have the right to wear whatever i want, believe in whatever religion i want, and go wherever i want.

Even though I am not fluent in French, everyone I encountered went out of their way to help me or answer my questions, I even made friends. However, the safety aspect is spot on and I had to be vigilant and avoid certain subway/station in Paris. Hello :) I totally agree that you can't decide where it's better for you to live based on just the pros and cons on paper. In the end, your heart tells you where you belong more 🙂. And, it could be that your heart belongs in a more hectic, less polite and polished place 😂. It sounds like London is so much better organized, and practicality makes life so easy. It's hard to part from that... But living in a place like Paris might get under your skin more and you'll get used to the things that bother you initially. It's good to give yourself time to try it all if you can because how else would you know your heart and mind? 😊 I've lived in Chicago for the last 20 years (since I was 17 years old), and I totally understand how good it feels to have excellent customer service everywhere, and to just get things done super easily and quickly... but... but... 😀🙃😉

I agree, customer service in London is superb. They also ask you at restaurants if you have any allergies before you order! How nice is that! Then you don't have to ask and be a "burden" you know. Love it! I think the Metro is so much better than the Subway. The Metro has so much more space, and have so many more stops. The London Underground is so crowded, small, and has bad air. The stations in Paris are beautiful, and are right under the surface, not 100 meters under ground like in London. I get quite claustrophobic in the London system. lol Hmmm, I also don't quite get that Paris is dirtier than London. London is world-known for their bad damp-smelling moldy hotels. :) If you book a 3 star hotel in Paris it's all ok. If you fail to book a 5+ hotel in London you get a broken shower and a blanket to sleep on. Don't be surprised if there are one or two holes in your wall. (speaking of experience haha) I visited the London St. Martins Lane (5 stars) and they were contantly spraying the air in the Hotel wih perfume to cover up the damp smell.

It’s so true about customer service in Serbia. They are so rude and unpleasant. I have lived in Serbia for 26 years and when I moved to the UK I was surprised how customer service is great. I was like “why are they so nice to me?” 😂

Agree. I still live in Serbia but have been a couple of times in the UK as a tourist and the people there are soooo kind and the customer service is impeccable.

We took my mum to paris for a weekend break and on our last day some guys were following us off the train to target my sister's backpack as we got off. I turned around at the right moment to alert her and they ran away. Nothing was taken luckily. Be careful!

Ah dear Paris. From what you say not much has changed. Years ago when I was fifteen and on my first trip there, I ordered a coffee in a cafe somewhere in Saint-Germain-des-Pres. My arm was knocked my someone and the cup broke and coffee went everywhere, thankfully not on me. Well the waiter acted like I'd murdered his mother. A flurry of gesturing French invective was poured over me very little of which I understood thankfully. I was fifteen and curiously unmoved by his display. I just giggled nervously which gave fuel to his fire....lol. The most wonderful school trip and my first trip to beautiful Paris. Generally though I find France very friendly to visit. Maybe because I always try to speak French. They seem to appreciate the effort and they always like me even more when they realise I'm Irish and not English....lol.

I found that people in Switzerland were by far the rudest. I still wonder why they were so angry all the time 🤔🤔
