Short answer: No. Long Answer: Even if you *are* doing simple plot summary with zero addition to the rhetoric surrounding the thing you're talking about (which in my view, you aren't), you're talking about things that I personally am not privy to, nor have I had the chance to hear about. For example, the R6 video. Hearing about that is interesting in the "oh, that's something I didn't know before" sort of way. By contrast, the Danganronpa video is something I *did* know about, but your opinion was enough to enrich the dialogue. There's a reason why I show up to your Twitch streams, and it's because you as a human being, without any further merit from work or effort - simply you at your core - are enjoyable to spend time with, whether I'm chatting about whatever in your Twitch stream or watching you tear apart a franchise I love (with good reasoning and sound logic). Going back to the examples you provided, I stopped playing LoR before they shuttered PvP, so I don't really know what went on. I have never read either The Shining or Doctor Sleep, nor have I seen either movie, and I don't think I plan to. I have not engaged in the R6 pro scene outside of watching some professional matches. To hear nothing more than a play-by-play on these events would be interesting, and I know for a fact that you've never just given play-by-play, and you've always had something transformative to say about the material, even if it may have been of a background importance to the video proper. I think you beat yourself up too much. KZitem metrics and "number go up wowee" (like you mentioned about the Dead By Daylight video only have 150 views) are NOT indicative of quality. It's the same with music; Taylor Swift songs with millions of listens may sometimes not hold up musically, lyrically or skillfully to songs from indie artists with a few hundred listens, despite Taylor Swift pulling in more listens, listeners, and revenue. People will gravitate towards quality - take your loyal audience as proof. Some people may come for the flavor of the month, like I initially did, but stay because they enjoy the character of the person behind the work. Even if you don't make a video essay worthy of an Oscar, you at your core will still be a good content creator. So, no, you were not, are not, and (with near 100% certainty) will not be wasting my time.
