I am gay and proud 🏳️🌈. I do not harm anybody.. in fact, I am well behaved than 90% of the Sri Lankan population. And we all are. Are we still doing bad? Why so much hatred? Whatever you say we are unique and talented. Colours don’t lie 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈 #OneLove #Pride #SriLanka

As someone who has known LGBTQ+ friends from childhood let me debunk some MYTHS 1)LGBTQ+ people CAN have children : many lesbian couples have thier own kids using invitro fertilization and many gay couples adopt children or have thier own kids using a surrogate mother to bear the fetus. Transgender people can also have kids. 2) LGBTQ+ relationships are not just about sex: they also love just like heterosexual ppl. It's not all about sex. Unfortunately gay ppl dont have the fortune to get married like heterosexuals. So they struggle to find serious committed partners and end up being subjected to STDs. 3)Homosexuality people are NOT perverts or sexual predators : Every single gay/bisexual person I know are kind and helpful people. They approach relationships the same way heterosexuals do. They ask out from the person they like and ask for consent. Unlike among heterosexual people "ගෑණු ළමයින්ටයි පිරිමි ළමයින්ටයි යාළුවො විතරක් වෙන්න බෑ" mentality doesn't exist among gay and Bisexual people. I have seen and experienced first hand how they keep their relationships and friendships separate. I have never once felt "predated" by any of my homosexual friends and they have never made me uncomfortable. [Please understand that bad ppl are there among both homosexual and heterosexual ppl. Protect ur children from sexual predators irrespective of their sexual orientation. if you listen to the news majority of rape cases are men raping women/girls. the number of homosexual rape cases are significantly less if u compare] 4)LGBTQ+ ppl are also educated: i personally know of two guys who started dating in school and now medical students in state universities. There are many more homosexual children who go thru the extremely competitive local A/L exam and are now successfully studying in state unis. There are so many successful professionals in many sectors who identify as LGBTQ+ in sri lanka and around the world. The reason for the misconception tht homosexuals are uneducated is because many children are abused at home by homophobic parents when they come out as homosexual. some children are forced to leave home and are disowned by their families. These children don't get to successfully complete their tertiary (and sometimes even their secondary education) and are forced to take up jobs like hairdressing/ bartending to make a living. If people like u can stop spreading homophobia more children will be able to get the support from their parents and become sucessful. I personally have homosexuality friends who have supportive parents, they are now studying various subjects like engineering and management. 5)Homosexuality does not spread : just because your child associate homosexual friends doesnt mean they will also become gay. You have to be born homosexual to be homosexual. It is not a choice or a lifestyle. Think logically. Why would anyone want to chose to be gay when there is so much hate and discrimination from people like you. 6) Homosexuality is not a disease of the 21st century: records about homosexuality go back to Greek n roman empires. It was not uncommon back then. Later due to influence from church british made it an illegal act. The law we have in sri lanka are from those colonial times. Funny enough, the british have already changed their law bur we r still stuck with those colonial beliefs. Homosexuality is not a mental disease. It can't be corrected with therapy. Homosexuality had prevailed since the beginning of human civilization and humans are not the only species in the animal kingdom with gay behavior. In conclusion, it's just a natural phenomenon. * pls note tht u r in a privileged position to give speeches like this in public. So when u talk about things like this u have to update your knowledge. Gay ppl go thru so much struggle with their families. When u spread false information and encourage police to discriminate you r endangering the lives of gay ppl. * suicide n depression is very common among gay ppl. If such children come to u for counseling pls direct them to someone else. U r obviously not qualified to treat them.

1:00:21 Hi Aunty Vajira, I feel the need to say something about what you said here. As someone who personally knows you, I’m very ashamed to hear you say things like this. Do you have any idea as to what sort of nonsense that you are putting into people’s heads. The LGBT community is already suffering at the hands of police brutality and also because of our society’s lack of acceptance of them as human beings. You being a renown motivational speaker are going against your own professional ethics. I’ve seen your work in other areas and I know you’ve helped a lot of people. I’ve seen your story and I know you’ve had a hard life. But this is just way out of line! I never expected this type of thing to come out of you. You are actually part of the problem. Because of these ideas you are spreading, now kids would be even more fearful thinking that their parents wouldn’t accept them or be there for them just cause they are a ‘victim of the lgbt virus’ in your own words. You are a mother yourself so you should not be saying these things in public. Personal preference is one thing but saying these to law enforcement officers is just a whole other issue. As a former policewoman, you would obviously know that your job is to treat every human being with equal respect. I hope you learn from this mistake and that maybe you’ll mind your mouth and do more research before you talk about such topics ever again🙆🏻♀️

She's not gonna learn. She's been spouting homophobic bullshit for a while.
Wtf people? She is spreading hate about lgbt and you guys are even praising her? It doesnt make sense. People all around the world are trying to make safe space for lgbt and here you are trying to make it worse. I bet you should be Buddhist and in Buddhism we are practiced to love everyone and not hate. This is wrong what you are spreading about lgbt community. Who even gave you rights to speak about them like this? We are supposed to love them and protect them, not corner them. Love everyone not hate everyone and separate them. Every developed country has legalized lgbt yet people like you, have the cheapest mindset and ruin something so beautiful. #savelgbt
