I hope he's on that stage as a spouse or significant other of their series. (I watch only the LHHATL, but this clip right here was a recommendation right underneath an old episode I was watching so I decided to click on it). I can tell you from the way he presented himself, I came out hating him. I could have been impartial if he was THAT IGNORANT but was trying to at least even if he were to agree to disagree in the end. There is no part of what he said would make him "not hated by people!" Doesn't mean that what he said would make everyone hate him like I immediately did, but he also didn't say stuff to earn him ANY BROWNIE POINTS. So dont get it twisted. He certainly didn't say anything constructive. I was actually feeling embarrassed for him the more he carried on..*

It's just a different culture. America is very race or color basked culture. It is very American to hyphenated your Americanness ie African American, Mexican American, native American. In Latino culture you're just Latino no matter what color you are. So when he says he has never heard of afro Latino he is saying that he's never heard of that term. He is not denying African roots or culture. He basically was saying if you want to get deep then human race is from Africa. Meaning Latinos are so mixed that even white passing Latinos if did a DNA test could have African in them. Some Latinos think hyphenated Latino creates more division and its too American.

I think the word might be more common in the U.S. I travel back and forth between the U.S and my country. Alot lot (not most, not all, but a lot) of people do seem clueless about modern racial terms and don't seem interested about race like in the US. Latin people culturally identify with their nationality, because regardless of the skin color, we all share the same culture and traditions. So that mold us as people more than skin. I only started using the words "hispanic/latina" to identify myself when i arrived to the US because people kept asking me "what are you?" "you look spanish" (they never knew about my country, so i see now its easier to say its in latin america/im latina. Doesn't mean I hate being that, it's just that those terms are unnecessary tO USE in my country. I dont even fill in what race i am on paper, always thought it was a bit weird ( i never had to do that in 2 latin countries that i lived before) Race is reminded in the U.S every single day, and ive been here for 9 years while still traveling. Just acknowledge people might not have the same experiences and race was a term invented in the U.S and enforced since. Many countries learned or even adapted it, but it doesn't mean everyone will have the knowledge about it, or think is necessary for their identity/culture. We were brought up differently and we have to accept that.

It's like when us Latin people use Mestizo, which many are racially and its what some grew up hearing, but when I came to the U.S, the people I met had no clue about that term. Im telling you, some even told me if my country was located in Mexico 🤦♀️we are all ignorant to some degree basically 😂 even me. I can only speak of the few things I know and what I've experienced. & ofcourse it doesn't apply to everyone, but it does help understand "how tf" someone never heard of such terms. We were all brought up differently, we were all exposed to a different environment, views, and culture, EVEN when born in the same country. And because of those differences, it's nice to to educate others, and not bash people for not thinking, knowing, or behaving the same way as you. I always love to say, don't "put aside our differences" to come together, but acknowledge them, respect and embrace them. Tolerance seems minimal now days, so lets be more accepting of our differences. Sorry for the paragraph. Have a good one 🤗

@@Risingofthephoenix yeah, I assume he is of mix ancestry. I cant speak for him, but if he didn't grew up hearing that term, it might not mean anything to him as an identity. Saying the actual country where hispanics are from is more specific to the culture they are proud of and grew up in. Pointing out skin color might not be as neccessary to many Latin people, since several countries are homogeneous , & others are aware that you can be any skin color and that Nationality. Apparently in the U.S, even though I was born here, I've already been told "I don't belong" just cause I look different from the majority.

Juju was eating, im mad they cut her off. Had she finished her point, maybe he would understand. I dont understand why lightskinned latinos (and even the darkest of ones!) are SO against being called black or being referenced as being anything other than “hispanic” or spaniard. Like those are not your race. Many of these places have a WIDE variety of mixed people. Being an Afto latino doesnt make you any less latino. It just specifies that instead of a more european descent, you come from an African one. At the end of the day, they all mixed. Some more than others but it doesnt help to downplay her point.

We're all mixed? Where did you get that from? I suppose no one is pure anymore so of you're counting someone having 1% of another race as their being mixed...then ok. Idk why people think every Latino is a mixture of white, black and native. Not saying that you fall in that category, but I'm just saying that many of us have even less mixture than the average African American. It all depends on which specific area you are talking about. It's never a good idea to lump all Latin American countries together and make a generalized statement about us. We're plenty different

It's clear most of this cast can't stand Amara for some reason and just fake the funk when they're around her... probably because they are mad that she is the breakout star and all of their storylines were pretty much overshadowed by her. Juju was making a very good point. A lot of people don't know the difference between race, ethnicity and nationality. If you're Latino that doesn't mean you're Spanish. Latino is your ethnicity, Spanish is a nationality and black/white is your race. And Latinos are not only from Latin America. There is such a thing as Latin Europe although the culture is different because it has different influences. I was so shocked when everybody (Latinos in America) was doing the DNA tests and was confused that they were mostly European. Don't they teach you that in school. If they don't you should try and learn for yourself it's your history people.

@@wwmexd4451 You haven't proven anything, just that this older guy talks a lot and the younger guy can't express and defend his thoughts that well, because of his young age. The story of humankind and the universe is very complex, and we'll never know all the answers. Here's what we will probably never know. Can something come from nothing? Very complex. The debate is still on. Was the big bang the beginning or just one of many? The time frame of this expansion is mind-blowing. What happens at the end? A big crunch? No scientist or atheist for that matter will state that we know everything, far from it, only religious people have that privilege. Let's not talk about "truths", "morals", "time",... the debate is very interesting but too philosophical, and it will get us nowhere. What do we do know? Humans have actually 2 separate brains both of which play a critical role in our body's overall function, wellbeing and behavior. Both will give a different reason why we do what we do. We don't have free will just the illusion. About the video. No atheist will say there's a creator. His young age got him to say things he doesn't believe. There's a lot to address in the video, but I think it's more interesting to just tackle 1 part of it. Is lying wrong? First, I don't know what the older guy is trying to prove with this question and the answer he gets? However, I can imagine someone living (for example let's go extreme here) in say North Korea that he or she constantly needs to lie or rather be deceitful just to survive the dystopia he or she's living in. The question is are they wrong to do so? And we're not just talking about if he or she likes the haircut of Kim Jong-un? However, I'm pretty sure if someone would ask them the question they'll say it's the greatest haircut in the world.

Thats why you get light skinned people with thick lips or nappy hair. Thats why you get girls like amara with dark skin but a small nose. He got really emotional about what they were saying. JuJu and Amara are Black women, who come from Spanish speaking countries. @@thesapphirem5469 I think she meant Spanish as in Hispanic. I know a lot of people who say Spanish people instead of Hispanic. I know what you are talking about though. Spanish people are from Spain.

@Southernboy 56 Duh. I clearly explained that I think she meant Hispanic . She said Spanish because so many people use that word instead of Hispanic
