2.0L 6spd manual. We've had a great run with it. It's very comfortable and reasonably swift on the highway, economical, and very capable off road. We just got back this week from a solo Simpson Desert crossing. No issues (apart from a billion bloody flies), and just 12.7l/100 from Mount Dare to Birdsville via the WAA line! Toughest Big Red climb conquered first go with 14psi, 3rd gear low range and diff locked. Tips:- 1. Get a few early scratches and dents so that you'll be happy to use and abuse it off-road. 2. When you are off-road, particularly in sand, always remember to press the 4WD off-road button which disables the traction control! 3. When you're on rough terrain, strap down your load at the very back of the tray using the provided tie downs! 4. Enjoy it.

@@boestey5164 Ours also 6 spd manual. 2014 : 1 owner. only 51K klms in it. Drives like a dream :) Not planning much off road though. We did years ago with a HSV Jackaroo. Certainly getting the M10 bolts. Great tip.

Thank you so so much for this detailed explanation how to change the Amarok tyre. The manual offered very little help but your video did wonders and made a challenge seem simple. Thank you again, brilliant video!

You're welcome Sammy. Yes, the manual is very poor (about a lot of things) so I'm glad the video helped.

This was a huge help when changing the wheel on my Amarok for the first time today. Thanks for this!

You're welcome Michael! It's a job that's probably a bit more complex than it needs to be and the owner's manual isn't much help...

Amarok wheel torque is insane high and with original tool you can't open them, if you have enought power You brake the tool. I have bent and splitted it in Transporter and torque spec is lower. Jack only works on hard level surface so I bought a Off-road airbag lift to my Amarok which use exhaust or compressed air when you have change wheel somewhere else than home garage.

Off road jack was made in China 5ton thing (copy of something I think) but looked and fealed quit heavy duty and included some pack protection mats but some surplus Kevlar pieces would be included to my set.

Thanks for the info Sami, I agree regarding the torque settings. It sounds like that Jack is a big piece of kit to carry around with you! I'm just lucky that I've never had a flat tyre, probably due to the excellent Falken Wildpeak AT3 tyres which have covered 50,000km over some of the roughest roads and tracks in outback Aus.

@@boestey5164 50x40x20cm soft pack with round corners so it don't take so much space less than 4kg and plenty of room for usable tools also. As it is about 120x60cm barrel filled, usable in sand mud etc. and probably usable lwhen you are stuck if you are careful and not melt it with exhaust pipe or puncture with some sharp objects. I think it was about 170AUD. I had 2 Touaregs before my Amarok and first one had 5x120mm rims and I think torque spec was 140Nm second 5x130mm 160Nm (very high also I think) same weight and size cars.
