Interesting thing you said about "the lyrics feel like they go by so fast I don't get time too chew on them". I personally feel like that's one of the most fun/interesting parts of hip hop for me. It adds so much replay value if you like a song but get to keep discovering more depth in the lyrics the more you listen if that makes sense.

this album is a pretty hard intro into kendrick lamar. its super dense with references and stuff like that so it will take lyric deep diving is necessary. his album Good Kid Maad City and DAMN. are much easier approach into who he is. AND Damn. actually won him a Pulitzer Prize. first rapper ever to win

Blue Magic is the heroin that Frank Lucas sold in American Gangster. That’s what he was likening his writing to with that line in “Momma.” Great reaction, btw. You should check out all of his albums. They’re all excellent and each one is musically unique.

You can see his progression through Christianity in his music especially in DAMN, which correlates to the ending poem in tpab about being a weak butterfly vs a hungry (wicked) caterpillar

Think it’s ok if u don’t provide commentary on every song. Think the average viewer prefers to watch the reviewers journey through an album and how their mannerisms/body language changes from song to song. (I know i do) Regardless, appreciate the effort put in and clear desire to have quality for your videos, just something to think about if you choose to continue reacting to albums. Most people want to see you listen to their favourite songs or favourite parts of songs

I just tried to remove parts from the reaction where I wasn't providing commentary. That one was actually one of my favorites.
