Not leaky eyes! I tend to cry rather easily with books, but definitely agree with 11/22/63. The most emotional book I've read is Assassin's Fate - it had me sobbing uncontrollably. Great video!

Hi Theo. "The Paper Menagerie" is a 4-hanky story for sure. 11/22/63 was an emotional journey as well. A story that will cause visual leakage is "Late Returns" by Joe Hill, part of his Full Throttle collection. Happy reading.

Backman's Beartown trilogy made me cry all the time but the end of The Winners was one of the most heart rending pieces of literature I have ever read. Robin Hobb does the same thing in her books. And yet I want to read them again! Thanks for your sharing, it opened up your channel to me.

Ive only read And Every Morning... From your list and that book wrecked me and it takes a lot to get my tear ducts going. My mom is suffering from dementia and always mistakes me for her brother, but she can sometimes pull out memories that i myself forgot. It was a tough read. On a lighter note, the thumbnail and intro are perfection!

LOOK AT THIS BABY OVER HERE WITH THE WATER ON HIS FACE! Anyway most of these books made me cry too. Ove, Every Morning, Enemy of God, Paper Menagerie, 11/22/63. The Road didn't hit me that way, it just....drained me emotionally. I should pick up a Monster Calls! Books have made me cry more in recent years when I got over myself and stopped trying to not cry. Emotions are important and if a book has managed to make me a feel a certain type of way, that's the power of that book. A few other books that made me cry were Sword of Kaigen, Deathly Hallows, the Book Thief, Jade Legacy, and every Stormlight Archive book.

Becoming a father cracked open my emotional core so I’ll cry at the drop of a hat. Short stories often are the worst offenders because they’re such a concentrated gut punch of emotion. The graphic novel Doctor Andromeda (a side story for Black Hammer) made me cry recently.

Great video as always, Theo! What a way to end your video with an amazing and emotional roller coaster that is 11/22/63. King’s characters, as we discussed, brings those characters to an amazing level of relatability and understanding. One story that made me tear up, and I listened to the audible while reading, was The Art of Teaching Children by Phillip Done. He actually narrated the audible version and it was so emotional and heart-warming how he related to his students and had students later in their life tell him how much he impacted them. Absolutely teared up and smiled all the way through! 😭❤️

I’m always conflicted about whether I ‘want’ to read a book that will bring me to tears, though it happens a lot more as I get older. Great to have some recommendations that fit that mood. Let's see, books that made me cry. So, Flowers for Algernon and This Is How You Lose The Time War are the obvious ones I've read recently. One, or several in fact, that might come as a surprise to some, are Oliver Sacks' books. Most recently Seeing Voices. It's a non-fiction about his observations about deafness and sign language and all that, from his perspective as a neurologist. His approach to it all is very anecdotal and a humane one. Definite tear jerkers. Other one of his I have to mention is The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat. And then just a few to round it off. Utopia Avenue by David Mitchell, The Crow Road by Iain Banks, All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque, The Buried Giant by Kazuo Ishiguro, and The Blood of Angels by Johanna Sinisalo.
